The unit we booked through VRBO had recently been updated, with new flooring, bathroom, and kitchen. All pots and pans, utensils, beach chairs, boogie boards, coffee maker were practically brand new. Super large high end refrigerator along with two large TV’s. This is an older property built in the early 1980’s, so while the interior is upgraded, the exterior - like the windows and sliding door to the lanai have seen better days. Great pool area and hot tub, free parking, and walking trails across the street. Our unit had a lanai that faced Albert Street, so you do get road noise. We had to keep the windows closed at night to mitigate the noise. Otherwise, a great value.
Very straightforward accommodations. Good deal for a month’s stay. Laundry inside the bathroom, full kitchen, spacious terrace, hot tub, such a nice relaxing place to come back to after hours of outdoor activities. Quiet area.
My wife and I stayed in unit 224A in Sandpiper Village for 4 nights. We selected this property after reading good reviews on the AirBnB website, including the “Superhost” rating, the A/C and a washer & dryer. The rental price is about half of what you would pay to stay at one of the nicer Princeville resorts. Sandpiper Village is an apartment complex with individual owners; apparently some tenants live here year round while others are short term rental guests like ourselves. There didn't appear to be an actual property management office at this property, other than the enclosure used by the grounds maintenance workers. The nearest beach is a short drive away but too far to walk. This unit provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay and we never used the air conditioning since there was excellent ventilation and the weather was cool and rainy during our stay. The kitchen was moderately well-equipped and had a dishwasher. The appliances were older but worked OK. The refrigerator and cupboards were stocked with many items left by previous guests. Downsides were the late check in time of 4 PM and the fact that the floors and refrigerator were not very clean. The small TV in the living room broadcasts programs in a very low volume but the commercials broadcast at a very high volume so we had to turn the volume up and down frequently. The location of this property is in a very nice area of Princeville with many elegant properties but this particular complex appears to be one of the oldest in the area with 1970s or -80s style plain aluminum frame windows and sliding doors. The unit and the furniture are well-worn. Some of the drapes and window coverings are missing and baseboard molding and some walls are scuffed and marred. Some things in the unit are newer, including the laminate flooring, the kitchen countertops, and the very nice circular staircase to the 2nd floor loft and half bath. The very nice, large deck can be accessed through a couple of doors and has clean patio furniture and everything you need for a trip to the beach. The owner provides dishwashing detergent, laundry detergent & fabric softener, and toiletries for the shower and bathroom sink. There are instructions by the washing machine requiring guests to use only cold water settings for wash and rinse. Some of the towels were quite worn but there were plenty of them. The king sized bed in the main bedroom was comfortable. The owner provided almost immediate feedback by phone, email, or text messages when we contacted him with questions. I notified him that I accidentally broke one of the glasses and his response was “No. worries. Thanks for letting me know.” Tip: be sure to see the flocks of the rare and endangered Hawaiian Nene geese by the strolling path next to the nearby golf course.…
We stayed at the 237A of Sandpiper Village, Princeville, Kauai, for a period of one month between February and March, 2018. This par of the island offers magnificent panoramas, beautiful beaches, lots of activities for all the tastes as well as all the services. Sandpiper Village is easily accessible, well maintained with a pleasant environment. The apartment was clean upon our arrival however it is cluttered with a plethora of trinkets and suffers from a lack of obvious maintenance (kitchen cupboards with missing tablet, weak shower water pressure with gripped faucet on the second floor with almost blocked washbasin; etc.). Both sofas of the living room are old and very uncomfortable just like the too high indoor stools for the counter serving as table or the shaky wooden chairs on the outdoor terrace. Kitchen accessories are either very worn or missing. The kitchen is very poorly equipped despite the addition of some items following our request after our arrival .. This unit lack the comfort necessary for a long stay.…
Loved our condo. The grounds were very well maintained and made for nice walks. Pool and hot tub were clean. Nice to be able to use outdoor grills. Loved this area. Recommend travelers consider this village of condos.
I booked a short stay due to mixed reviews. I was pleasantly surprised by 105A and would definitely stay there again! It has been remodeled with wood floors, granite countertops, and new stainless appliances. Great unit, super clean, and well stocked with supplies and a washer/dryer. The only downside: no AC so there is a little noise from facing street.
Just came back from 9 days in Kauai. Me and my daughter stayed in 206B studio which we both loved as it was just what we needed (great price plus internet and parking both included). Newly updated, very clean and feeling fresh with all the amenities we needed. This place was a great base for all our trips of the north shore. Swimming pool and tub were a plus but, we spend most of our time on the beaches. We would recommend this place to all our friends but hope it will be still available for us when we go next time.
We stayed in a studio apartment for a week. It was quiet (except for the chickens), the hot tub/swimming pool were amazing, residents were friendly, and although we didn't have a stove, we did have a fridge, microwave, and grilling facilities. We were close to Hanalei and the lighthouse area. We had a great time. The owner was always available by email, and check in was EASY! Parking was a little tough so we made our own spot. Laundry was in Kapa'a so it was a drive away too. Bring your own hair conditioner and dish soap to do your dishes. Book your helicopter flight out of Princeville airport too. It's so close! We want to return and will definitely stay here again!
Stayed here for 2 nights, which was booked privately. The property is in a pleasant location which is convenient to drive to all the sights on the north shore. It's also very convenient to the shopping village. The room was adequate, with all the facilities and amenities required for a short stay, however it was nothing outstanding. In addition, the walls appear to be paper thin and we could hear our neighbours having a conversation as if they were in the same room as us! Whilst it is pleasant enough for a short stay, if you are intending to stay 5 or more days, I would recommend spending a little more and trying one of the many other properties in the area.
We stayed in 228a---3 adults and an infant. The positives: Good location Quiet safe neighborhood Affordable Enough space and 1.5 baths Fully functional kitchen w all supplies needed to cook any type of meal Nice washer dryer w drying rack Lanai is nice (but looks out onto Albert road) w nice patio furniture Internet is good for Kauai Negatives: note some of these are a little picky but take it for what it's worth Apartment is a little outdated could use a re model in the bathroom and kitchen Shower is somewhat clean but very outdated....it's bathtub style with a sliding glass door Very very warm. We came in June and the top floor/loft is unbelievably stuffy and hot even with fans on. A good 5 degrees warmer than main floor. With that the bedroom is very hot and stuffy. Not those good trade wind breezes coming in. Kitchen is in need of bad remodel. Walls are THIN W windows open the neighbors in separate building as well as below and adjacent (common wall) it sounds like these people are IN the condo with me. We are city dwellers and used to thin walls and noise but this is a whole new level. Literally thin enough walls that I would often mistake the person in adjacent apartment talking as my husband talking to me when he was sitting right next to me. This unit the bathroom=bedroom is rig next to the neighbors lanai so when they are out on the lanai it's like they are in the bedroom with you. Pray you don't get party night owls! Not really within decent walking space to either the princeville center or a beach (for example if you stay at Pahio condos like we did last time--you can walk to the beach in 10 minutes) Bottom line:if you're only going to sleep in this place (and can handle heat) and don't mind thin walls then it's not a bad deal. If you'll spend any amount of time more than sleeping or are a light sleeper look somewhere else. I chose this place because we needed a washer dryer w our infant in clothe diapers. I don't think I would stay here again and spent my walks looking for other condos to stay at next time.…
