At the base on the Haleakala crater you will find the lodge. The brick oven outside is worth seeing and the pizza's that come out are even better. The toppings are unique but work well together. The service was good and the atmosphere was also good , it gives you the feeling you are at a cabin. The prices are...

My husband and I chose this place given proximity to the mountain. Our goal was to spend two days on on the mountain and we were looking for a good location. We arrived to our room early due to flight changes and that was treated as a horrible inconvenience. It's an average place with highly priced food although the view...

Had a lovely lunch at the Kula Lodge after Haleakala. Make sure you eat outside so you can enjoy the lovely garden and gentle waterfall. Food was great. Hubs had blue cheese burger and I had teri-chicken. Watched staff making wood fired pizza on outside oven that really smelled and looked yummy. Would definitely go back if in the area.

We decided to come here after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor. Took the chance at not reserving a table and got lucky I guess. It was pretty full with a few tables to spare. Friendly service. Beautiful view of the valley. Hubby and I shared fresh papaya to start. I had the Belgium waffle with local strawberries and pineapple,...

I had a bowl of soup which was $9.00 with nary a cracker or slice of bread. My husband had a perfectly ordinary club sandwich - $16.00. The food was all good, but we couldn't get any service and had to track down the manager just to get our check. It is a beautiful spot.

Not worth the great location, would never stay again. Rooms right beside road and traffic is all night long. No sleep, no tv, and it is a old outdated place. The only thing good was the pizza in the restaurant.

After a long day at the crater we stopped by the Kula Lodge and Restaurant for lunch. We ordered the pesto pasta with shrimp and a plain cheese pizza. The pizza's are cooked in a woodfire fireplace outside and was pretty good. The pasta was good as well. The view was amazing and the staff was very pleasant. I would...

If u want to be away from busy streets and traffic and lose urself in the greenery of Maui,.. this is a nice place, not particularly "showy" as far as lodging goes, but it serves it's purpose. It's a quaint little Place lost in time. It's location is close to many little stores, restaurants and the local winery-great wine,by the...

This was a wonderful place to stay. It is roomy, clean, great location up country Maui, nice restaurant, and the staff was great. The property has an art gallery, a botanical garden, and a very nice gift shop. It is about 1 hour from Haleakala Visitor center.

We've been to Maui 4 times before and this time stayed on Maui for 2 1/2 weeks in Makawao. Since we'd been to Maui before, we stopped in to the Kula Lodge to see their gardens. Since our last visit they've added a wood fired pizza oven. We came back during our second week on the island and had pizza...
