We stayed in unit A101. The unit is spacy as we had 4 adults and a teenager and it never felt overcrowded. The patio is amazing and the best part of our stay. The kitchen was fully equiped as we did do cooking and there was a nice supply of condements. They owners (or cleaning crew) needed to work on their organization skills when it came to towels and sheets. When trying to find sheets for the pull out I think they had things in 4 different places and the unit was a little shy on towels. The washer wasn't working correctly at first and when we notified the owners they had maintaince show up quickly! We were able to do laundry the remainder of the time. In the master bedroom some screens were torn and didn't fit the windows so I wasn't comfortable leaving them open which did mean the unit got a little stuffy overnight. There were several fans in the unit but they despretly needed cleaned. It is time for them to upgrade lots of the furniture too. Not comfortable/safe at all.

The two biggest drawbacks of our stay is NO BEACH. Reviews we had read before our stay it sounded like they were "repairing" the beach... there is no beach to repair. The other thing is the unit is right by the smoking section. You have to leave the front door open to get air in the unit the cigarette smoke streams in through the screen. At times we had no choice but to close the door it stunck so bad.

We stayed in #A204 for a week with friends. We received what seemed to be adequate information before we arrived. But once we got there we couldn’t find our unit. Called the designated rental agent (Maui Paradise Properties) and did not get a call back. Finally knocked on a door and were told there were two buildings (not mentioned in the information) and we were in the other building. We finally found the unit and the view from the balcony was beautiful. The unit itself appeared to be heavily used and needed a deep cleaning. There were 7 dishes in the cupboard so with 4 people we were constantly doing dishes. The screen door to the balcony was extremely difficult to open. We finally called the maintenance number and he came two days (and two calls) later. Unit could use more lamps and a vacuum. We called the concierge service indicated in our information packet and never got a call back (Maui Vacation Adventures). If the view from the balcony wasn’t as great as it was my rating would be lower.

Review Comments: Condo was very clean and has had a lot of work done on it to upgrade it over the past few months. Great view, saw Spinner Dolphins and Turtles playing in the water while sitting on the Lanai. Was looking for the first Whale sighting, but unfortunately was still a little too early. Great communication from the My Perfect Stays team!

Condo was nicely furnished with most everything we needed, including an awesome view. We shared this trip with my wife's brother and his wife and both couples celebrated their anniversaries while there. The January sun works it's way across the lanai and into the condo so closing the curtains made a difference, just have to open them for the sunset if indoors. There are three gas grills for guest use and we took advantage of that, my brother in law and his wife both acquired a taste for fresh grilled fish. Sister in law commented about some road noise as they had the guest bedroom but said after reading a bit and falling asleep it didn't wake her.

We reserved an oceanfront apartment (A203) to enjoy the ocean and the outside. Vacasa, the booking and management company, failed to disclose that much of the building is under renovation, including the grounds and the apartment next to our's, it was a big surprise when we arrived and saw a sign in the elevator announcing that some of the renovations would produce fumes that will be unpleasant and you should stay inside if it bothers you, Really? Workers carry materials back and forth all day long, passing our lanai each time, pounding and drilling goes on all day, there is a motor scooter parked outside the door to our apartment, presumably belonging to a worker. We didn't book this blindly, we had a couple of discussions with Vacasa reps where there was ample opportunity to tell us. Our vacation is ruined and at quite an expense. I understand buildings and apartments need updating, but to withhold this information from prospective renters is criminal. We should be compensated which we will pursue.

We stayed for seven days with our three grand children ages 16, 14 and 12. We were very pleased with the facility. The public beach was just a four minute walk away as were restaurants and stores. A other reviews have noted the place was not air conditioned but the sea breezes kept it comfortable. There was plenty of room and the building manager was very helpful. The kids spent a lot of time in the pool. The views were fantastic. A good time was had by all.

This is a great place to stay. I had an 8th floor condo with an ocean view and enjoyed watching the whales and the dolphins play out in the ocean. We had 2 bedrooms and 2 baths and the kitchen was fabulous. I can hardly wait to come back.

The A801 condo is like a dream! The views are absolutely breathtaking! It is well stocked, and the beds are very comfortable. The location is ideal. This place was outstanding. We loved watching the turtles in the water. Very short drive to all the stuff near Napili and Kaanapali. The construction others talked about is almost done so it didn't bother us. .The managers are extremely responsive! Highly recommend!

We stayed for 10 days in B-204. From the moment we stepped inside, we knew we had made the right choice. We had a double-end unit, so the master bedroom had a gorgeous ocean front lanai as well. The condo was very tastefully decorated and gives a great island feel. Everything was so clean and updated as well. The sunsets were awesome, the rainbows were breath-taking, & the pods of dolphin swimming by were wonderful to watch. The grounds are beautiful and well-kept.We loved sitting on the lanai in the evenings and watching the flickering tiki torches that lined the grounds along the beach. We hated to leave. We have already booked another 10 days for May 2006. Can't wait to return. We've stayed at other condos, but nothing compares with the Hololani for us. The rental manager went out of her way to make sure that we had everything we could wish for.

Our family of five stayed at the Hololani for about a week in February and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Our suite was larger than we expected and was clean and recently renovated. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well-equipped. We particularly enjoyed the availability of barbeques by the pool. The grounds and the pool are very well maintained.

The views of the ocean, with Lanai and Molokai clearly visible are absolutely breathtaking. When we visited in February, we could easily see whales just offshore and were awed by their fantastic breaches.

There was not a wide beach right at this location, although there was some sand and enough length for a short walk. I would recommend you rent a car and simply drive to the many beaches in Maui - some of the best are within 5 to 10 minutes of the unit. We particularly enjoyed the snorkelling at Kapalua Bay (5 minutes north).

Here's a tip - don't immediately go out and purchase boogie boards etc. for your visit - check with the hotel manager - often people leave their boogie boards and other equipment behind at the hotel - these are made available for your use!

Most units at Hololani Condo's do not have air conditioning. When we went to Maui we opened doors and windows for a breeze!
Answer from mpdick
There are 3 ways to get to Hololani from the airport. 1. taxi approx $95 whoever you book with may have someone they can call about 45 min depending on traffic 2. shuttle available at airport around same price anywhere from 45 min to 2 hours depending on how many other people they are dropping off 3. bus - cheap but 2 transfers and over 2 hours
