Have stayed here over the years and seen/commented on the changes. Was here in 1/15 when it appeared that foundations were going in for "yurts" but was told by manager no, no yurts going in. Well several months later, I noticed the frames going up as I drove by and though they might not technically be yurts, the "tentalow" is...

We were camping in our own tent for first three nights and then upgraded to the tentalow. The grounds are beatiful. Right on the beach. All tent sites are private and shaded. Facilities are simple - cold shower and portable toilets but everything very clean. The tentalows are awesome. Spacious, comfortable, with own outdoor hot shower, sink and mirror, lights......

Camp olowalu was a great camping ground in my opinion. Nice facilities- showers, sink, wifi at office, porta potties ( cleaned and refilled with tp every day ). Many cute chickens ( also cute baby chicks following the hen) and cats help keep down the bug and mice population. Reasonable price. Nice and clean area- nicely delineated camping areas for...

This was a great campground to setup base while exploring the West side of the island. The camp sites are mostly shaded and are a short walk from the parking lot. Basic cold showers and porta-pottys for the campers. Short drive to Lahaina and Kahului. High recommend!

Whether you wish to tent or glamp, this campground is for you! The tenting areas are set up to be private from each other (instead of pitching tents in a field)... there are showers available and running water. The grounds are well maintained and the snorkeling is one of the best in the island. The "tentaloos" are fabulous for those...

If you have stayed here in the past, it is not the same campground. This is now a large, efficient and well organized campground with relatively good amenities and friendly staff. The campsites are spread out amidst the trees along the beach and seem to keep going on and on. They now accept reservations, cost a bit more and have...

We camped for 8 days around Maui - around Hana, up Haleakala, and at Olowalu. Camp Olowalu was our favourite. The privacy was adequate. There was some road noise, but not bothersome. There were a mix of other middle aged couples and what seemed to be more permanent residents. Everyone we encountered was with an open mind, and we had...

We stayed at Camp Olowalu for the entire duration of our stay in Maui (9 days). Originally we intended to camp or find a cheap condo to rent until we found the perfect alternative in the Tentalows. The place is gorgeous and the facilities almost brand new. We initially hesitated to book because of the bad review but they have...

I stayed in a Camp Olawalu tentalow over a Thur/Fri/Sat stretch during the busy whale-watch season. At last minute, I needed to change my reservation by advancing it a day and greatly appreciated the flexibility and understanding of the manager(owner?) I spoke with on the phone. As a West Maui resident, I was somewhat familiar with the property and aware...

Camp Olowalu just got new owners. It is an interesting place. The new owners have cleaned up the place a lot and are building tentalows which seem really cute. Tent camping is decent. They still have the disgusting chemical toilets that other campsites have. They do have nice outdoor cold water showers. The campsites have picnic tables, which are very...
