We acknowledge we were traveling in January 2021 under Covid travel protocols, but the staff/management at the Westin made us feel less than welcome. No one was very friendly. Very little info conveyed. Some examples: 1.only one eatery/bar was open - it was take a #; no table service. 2.They understandably eliminated some pool chair for social distancing - however, they took away the "free" chairs and left all the rental cabanas. So if you didn't get a chair early AM, you had to pay a MINIMUM $75/day to rent 2 loungers with a sunshade (not even a cabana). 3. They did not enforce the "saving pool chair" policy so chairs were saved by 7AM - too bad if you were late; there was no pool patrol 4. Spa was closed, altho they were open at other hotels. 5. Villa was very dated; dented coffee table; furniture had been rearranged at some point but no one bother to re-hang the artwork so everything was out of alignment, like a tacky hotel. 6. There was a putrid smell in our villa; finally got it serviced 3rd day and was resolved 7. No housekeeping and in Hawaii that means the trash gets very smelly - their solution was to have you place it in the hallway, so now the hallway looked like a back alley. 8. Hotel operators not working so nearly impossible to get in touch with front desk. The 3 times I've stayed here previously were fantastic but it has really gone downhill.…
We were just on property for 10 days while our son got married. We’d like to give a shout out to Kaele at the pool area. He is excellent. He represents the resort in a manner that makes people feel like family. His friendly demeanor creates such a great atmosphere at this resort. We love the ease of staying at this resort. We loved makenna, Johnny and Ava our pool deck servers. We’re glad the craft fair is open and love the torch lighting ceremony each nite. We gathered near the fire pit one nite and laughed till we cried. We can’t wait to book another trip to this beautiful resort Our only suggestion is please allow pool chairs on the grass. Daily the chairs were all occupied by 7am. We understand Covid rules. But by adding chairs in the grass like the Marriott down the way many more can enjoy the ocean view. Aloha …
The purpose of our trip was to be in a gorgeous place while we were working remotely. This location was definitely as beautiful as all of the website photos. We had exactly what we needed in the villas to be comfortable for the week, including reliable wi-fi, a full kitchen, comfortable bedroom, spacious bathroom, laundry, and an amazing view from our balcony. We also enjoyed taking our work to the poolside, and going to the beautiful beach when we were ready to unplug. We saw the sunset each night, whales breaching, and snorkeled right there in the water. Due to COVID restrictions, only one restaurant was open and the spa, convenience store, and other amenities were also closed. But I feel like safety practices were definitely in place. I would love to go back!
The location, grounds and amenities on this resort are top notch. Walk right out from your room to the huge pool area with sections for kids and adults. Then directly to a sandy beach! Rooms were large and spacious! We had a walk in shower and a jacuzzi tub! The pools and beach were amazing!
What a great escape from 2020. The resort is following all COVID guidelines & staff wears their masks all the time. Guests wear their masks in the lobby, hallways & whenever they are close to others. Only one restaurant is open at the Westin Villas & the spas are closed. But the pools & slide remain open. We had a very relaxing time around the pool & on the beach. We worked out most mornings on the grass, looking out to the beautiful ocean. Occasionally, you can see whales blowing, swimming or breaching. The entire staff is very helpful & nice. Most of the restaurants on the island are open for in-dining seating. Highly recommend this resort. Steve Concialdi
