I can understand the mixed reviews to a point as this is definitely specialty lodging but it is very nice. We had stayed at the Fairmont in Waliea prior to arriving in Paia and would choose the Nalu Kai Lodge over the Fairmont anyway. The Fairmont obviously had a nicer room
