Our villa was beautifully appointed and easily accommodated our family of six. It is located amongst a number of other resorts but there is no feeling of being crowded. The amenities (pools, gym, etc) are first class and there is easy access to the nearest beach/lagoon. The villa was fitted out with a good range of appliances as well as fast WiFi. What we found to be missing was a welcome pack of essentials and we had to locate the local supermarket before we could make coffee. On the matter of coffee, if you require good coffee then be prepared to order out – the Keurig coffeemaker is an abomination. Staff at the villas were friendly and helpful.

This place is lovely. The sunsets are phenomenal on the lagoons. It’s right new door to Aulani, Marriott Beach Club, and Four Seasons so there are plenty of dining options without the actual resort crowds (or kids: I have two but prefer a resort without kids running amuck). It’s great for older and calmer kids and couples. The villas have everything you need to cook, do laundry, etc. A quick trip to Costco (15 min. away) the first day and we were all set!
Go to Longboards next door at Marriott. Great beach seating and yummy food and drinks. Disney’s Ama Ama is cozy as well but expect Disney prices and lots of kids on property. The ABC store “in town” is great for food and souvenirs, liquor as well, but just walk. There’s never any parking available and only takes 7-10 minutes to walk. There’s also a fun luau next door at Paradise Cove that is worth the time as well.

We took our 4 kids and their friends as a graduation trip that was postponed a couple years (total of 9 people). July 25-31. We stayed in room 204 (3 bedroom) and 308 (2 bedroom). I will say that the rooms are very spacious and very nicely equipped. We loved them as soon as we walked in. Room 204 had a larger table on the lanai which we loved for hanging out and playing games. Room 308 the lanai was closed because they were painting the units which was a huge downfall. They said when we booked the room a year ago that this was told to us but it was not. Luckily we had 2 rooms and the room 204 was already painted by the time we checked in. Otherwise it would have been much less enjoyable as we spent many hours on the lanai.
The pools are nice but could use some more umbrellas. People who want shade don’t have a lot of options (especially if their lanai is closed) AND the fact that you can’t have any type of umbrella or shade on the beach means the pool or lanai is your only option. So you’d think there would be more options. The fact that there is no food option on site was also a downfall (besides really overpriced hot dogs).
The tiki bar was cute and one bartender was friendly.
We love the area and the lagoons but we will probably stay at the Marriot or Disney resort next time due to the fact that they have restaurant option and they have umbrellas and shaded options for the beach. I have to have shade so that is a big selling point for our family. And even tho we cook a lot I don’t want to cook every single meal so restaurants are nice especially for a big group.
Another con is that you need your room key everywhere you go. To get into elevator even and you have to have a specific room key for your floor which sucks when you have 2 rooms on 2 different floors! (The keys are not even marked at all) and you have to scan the key card to go to the beach and come back in. Seems a little tedious.
During checkout the front desk was pretty rude. We had called the day before and got a late checkout for noon on our last day. Well the room keys stopped working at 10am. We ended up locking ourselves out of one room and leaving one of the 9 keys in one room. The front desk girl was very rude when we asked why we were locked out even though we got a late check out and she blamed us saying we should have known to have our key cards reprogrammed once we got the late check out. Anyway I have never had to do that before for a late checkout at all. And the fact that she was so rude really left us feeling bad about the place. We did have a great time here but there were enough cons that we would not stay there again.

I want preface that this review is for Ocean Tower 801 only since each unit is individually owned.

The only good thing was the communication from the guest services representative. She contacted me a few days before we arrived, very friendly and provided clear direction. She met us onsite and gave a quick run down of the unit. While the unit is perfect for families, it needs a refresh including a paint job, updated washer and dryer (not energy efficient, very old, and rust on the interior when you open the dryer door) and other things as outlined in the review. The master bedroom is in desperate need of a new pillows (both sleep and decorative), and a new king mattress as is caves in the middle. The second bedroom is much smaller, and also needs a new mattresses. The living room furniture and rug are worn and has stains. The outdoor patio furniture also has stains, faded and worn cushions, and the faux plants need to be replaced. The kitchen and living room sofa have ants, yes, ants! We communicated with the property management company and was told that maintenance would come and spray the unit while were out. When we returned, we still saw ants. Maintenance came back, looked around and said an expert would need to be called, but gave no indication when that would happen. The master bath has soap scum on the glass shower door and the shower tile has definitely seen better days (this is how it looked when we arrived). The pictures on VRBO are from several years ago and a misrepresentation of the unit because the living room furniture is different, the mattress looks firm (it’s not) and the patio furniture cushions looks new in the pictures, but there not.

In terms of the overall property, we had to park in the Beach Tower; be sure to stay in the lines or you’ll get a notice. All the poolside beach chair cushions need to be replaced, very worn. There’s a poolside bar, but I don’t think they sell food. Most of the staff we encountered were friendly, check-in and check-out was easy.

My family and I were incredibly disappointed in the unit . The owners really need to invest a little bit of time and money to update the unit. If I could have gotten a full refund, I would have and stayed somewhere else.

We recently went to the Beach Villas at Ko Olina on a staycation since travel is restrictive lately. Starts International made the stay enjoyable and easy. They also informed us of all the modified rules we need to be aware of and were very helpful throughout the whole process.

The room was very spacious with 2 large bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a full kitchen and huge dining area...aside from the living area and lanai. Everything was very high quality with high ceilings and oversized Koa doors and trim. The grounds were very nice also with separate pools snaking throughout the grounds and of course the beach is right there connected to the property.

We were also surprised to find the nicest gym we’ve ever seen at a hotel/resort area. We used it everyday and it even had a steam shower, sauna and relaxation area. The gym equipment was in very good condition and good quality.

Highly recommend booking a room and thank you Starts for coordinating everything so seamlessly.

It was actually a very complicated and mixed up reservation at a neighboring resort that didn't work out. We were pretty upset when we found out our vacation might not happen. I immediately went to VRBO website and found this wonderful place and it was available for the time we needed. Someone had just cancelled and we were in luck. And luck it was. It was the best thing that could have happened. The neighboring resort we had planned on staying was crowded and too many reservations needed to sit by a pool or on the beach.

However, Beach Villas at Ko Olina was a dream come true. Quiet, family friendly, relaxing and beautiful unit. Very comfortable and laid out quite nicely. My husband and I along with my daughter and son in law completely enjoyed our week long stay. The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. The "quiet pool" was gorgeous and quiet! I enjoyed it fully. The beach was great located on one of the lagoons in Ko Olina and a very non crowded one at that. It was truly wonderful!

the view from our unit was gorgeous and the property manager, Louie, was kind and very helpful. He addressed any of our needs that came up. We are so grateful to have found this heavenly place and will definitely be back at some point! Loved, loved, loved it!

Our family stayed her for a week in August and it was fabulous. There was a lot of room in the villa for all of us and the lagoon was just outside the gate and very relaxing. It was not as crowded as the other beaches on Oahu that we visited. The gym and steam room were impressive and so were the pools and all three hot tubs. The one negative is that the person below us was a smoker and it kept us off the lanai on occasion, but it was not a huge deal. Our condominium came stocked with beach chairs and other accessories so we did not have to rent any of that. Grocery stores were close by so food was easy to get. It was a great place for our first trip to Hawaii.

Fabulous communication, easy and friendly check in. Gorgeous property. Our unit had everything you’d need in the kitchen. Everything you need for the beach (chairs, snorkels, beach bags, sand toys). Pack and play for a little one. Fantastic beach and pool view. Parking space included. Huge balcony with giant sofa. The amenities were awesome: the pools, koi pond, beach bar, lagoons, grills. Pools and beach never crowded. Loved the path around the lagoons for walking in the am, and only a short 5 min walk to Aulani, 4 seasons, Marriott, golf course/Roy’s. Would 100% book this villa over any of those resorts for less crowds and more space. Got a 3br/3 ba condo for the price of 1 room at Aulani. 10 min walk to the Village Center. Can still eat at surrounding resort restaurants and do most Aulani activities (shave ice, character greetings, restaurants and stores. Everything but getting IN the pool). Had zero issues with any sort of visitor hostility or security like other reviews have said. We were left completely alone everywhere we went, and staff was very friendly at check in. A greeter showed us to and around our unit when we arrived.

We went on a family trip to Hawaii and stayed seven days here, after first staying at the Royal Hawaiian for a few days. Some of us golfed and enjoyed the course, also did snorkeling. The pools and gardens on the property were beautiful and well enjoyed. I especially liked the "quiet" pool. The accommodations were good. We stayed in a three bedroom, three bath condo with a large lanai, living room, gourmet kitchen, and dining area. We appreciated the washer and dryer. There were six of us and had more than enough room. The only thing I would say is that the lanai furniture could do with some new pillows. They were all worn out and not too comfortable. Beds were average. Parking for the condo did not accommodate our SUV due to being right on a huge pole so we were able to park outside which was more convenient anyway for our needs. Over all I would say it was a great experience.

While our individual condo was just fine, the resort as a whole does not welcome children. There are two pool sections - a “family-friendly” one closer to the beach and a “quiet” one closer to the condos. This would be fine, but the family pool is FREEZING (this was not our opinion alone, but the opinion of many other families). The quiet pool, however is a lovely 84 degrees.
This meant the quiet pool was always full of kiddos, but that the front desk folks received complaints from the surrounding condos and had to come out and tell kiddos to keep the noise level down. Only, it’s not loud at all! In the two days I’ve been sitting here, kids have been pretty respectful.
A few rules:
They are not allowed to jump in the pool; play Marco Polo; throw nerf balls; laugh too much; etc.
This would all be fine if the other pool was swimmable, but for most people here it was not.
I get the desire for quiet, but this feels like something the condo board could easily fix by turning up the heat in the kids’ pool.
Other than that, it’s worth noting that there are minimal facilities in the complex (no store or anything). It’s not far to a small shopping center, though.
