I always highly recommend vacationers spend a few nights on Waikiki. This will not only get you that experience, but also make you enjoy KoOlina so much more. Though Waikiki has tourist trap activities, it must be experienced. For a truly relaxing experience and quiet surrounding, head west and stay a while. KoOlina is so quiet, so peaceful, and has...

What an imaginative way of showcasing Ko Olina. Yes, Waikiki and Ko Olina offers very different things for different people. The staff in Ko Olina Resort, as well as the Beach Villas at Ko Olina, is really what makes the area so appealing. Everyone that works in Ko Olina has a lot of Aloha and perhaps makes up for some...

We couldn't be happier with our stay at this beautiful location. Our family of 5 (kids ages 15, 12, and 10) began our holiday with a stay at the Disney Aulani resort next door for the first 4 nights. While we thoroughly enjoyed the Aulani resort, 4 days was enough to get our fill of the busy resort and it...

Wow, what a great review. We would like to elaborate a little more on the night life. The Makai Hale, or the pool bar at the Beach Villas, has entertainment a couple times a week. In addition there is entertainment at the Marriott Beach Club, Disney Aulani, Roy's Restaurant Ko Olina, Monkeypod, and Paradise Cove. For a complete listing of...

I've been to Hawaii 7-8 times but this was our first stay in Ko Olina on the Island of Oahu. We stayed at Beach Villa #326. Simply put, this resort really raises the bar in terms of luxury and relaxation. We were 5 adults and 2 children ( toddler & 6 month old). We shared 3 bedrooms and 3 full...

Ko Olina is often referred to as having the neighbor island experience, on the island of Oahu. This means that you can enjoy a day or two in Waikiki (in the city) and then enjoy country living...without standing in a TSA line. You mentioned the lanai (balcony). Did you know that the lanai doors slide into pockets, creating seamless indoor/outdoor...

We've been spending the last 10 days here in Ko Olina and it has to be one of the most relaxing places in Hawaii… The weather has been absolutely perfect with light cloud cover some days and bright sun for other days. We drove into Honolulu yesterday and marvelled at the very busy beaches in Waikiki and all the traffic....

West Oahu moves at a more leisure pace. It is considered the "country" side of the island, where there is less traffic, less people, less buildings. We are not completely unplugged, as there are all the big conveniences (CostCo, Safeway, etc) just a few miles down the road. There are also simple groceries within the Resort, as well as a...

We have stayed at this property twice and are already planning a third stay next summer! It's about 20 minutes from the airport on the west side of O'ahu. It's more resort-y and laid back than Waikiki side. Yet, it's easy to get onto the freeway and head off to any of the other destinations on the island. The villas...

Aloha Flo A, We are so glad that you continue to come back to the Beach Villas. The information that you shared is better than some of the paid marketing that is out there. Next time you come, let us know if you take advantage of some of the other conveniences like Grocery Delivery. Also, let us know if you...

We are so glad that you consider the Beach Villas wonderful. Yes, late check-outs need to be scheduled well in advance. Unlike normal hotels (where cleaners are a department housed within the building) your unit is most likely cleaned by a hired cleaning company that is scheduled in advance to clean. If you need a late check out, we need...

So it's our first family vacation to Hawaii. After much research and reading we settled on the Ko Olina Beach Villas. Man are we glad that we did! Aloha Kristen K, It is always nice to hear that the Beach Villas at Ko Olina was chosen after a lot of research. As you know we are surrounded by large hotels with lots of marketing monies. Since the Beach Villas is a condominium made up of individual owners the amount of marketing funds is not very comparable. The next...

Our family stayed in a three bedroom unit in Ocean Tower and we booked through Homeaway. This property sits in between the Marriott and the Disney resorts. You get the best of both worlds with the spacious, pristine room on a quieter lagoon within walking distance of several great restaurants - we especially enjoyed Ama Ama at Aulani. We attended...

Aloha GWG! Wow, what a well rounded review! I see from your comments that you took advantage of much that Ko Olina has to offer, including some amenities found at the Aulani and Marriott. When you come back you may also find a restaurant or shop at the Four Seasons to uncover. Also, you may want to try a Marina...

Aloha Terri M, The Penthouse Floors have the most amazing views, as they are high enough to see almost to the horizon. If you booked through Elite I imagine that you were probably in the Ocean Tower, which offers higher floors than the Beach Tower.
