Great spot on the beach. Close to food land and any other amenities needed. Downside is the 7 pm curfew but it can be overlooked if you get up early and do anything touristy before then. Which shouldn't be a problem with the free alarm clock the campground comes with, roosters crowing at 5-6 am. Not a big deal if...

MBC is a hidden gem! Beautiful beaches that aren't crowded and affordable. We (4 adults)stayed 3 days and 2 nights in Plantation Hale #2. It includes 2 full/queen beds and an inside toilet, there is a shower on the side of the house for running water. You are about 30 ft from the ocean when on the front porch and...

2 frienda and I rented a Hale. For $60/night we didn't mind having no electricity or plumbing. However, there is a ridiculous rule whereby the gate is locked at 7pm to cars travelling in or out. The location is pretty awesome, and the campground is extremely popular with the locals, who bring marquees, BBQs and the entire extended family. Our...

Got a great experience overall. Tent sites are very windy, 24h/24h. But, you get the beach just for you ! Cons : (to the owner) : it's ok to close the entrance gate during the night to keep the campground quiet... but the access to get out should be always available. In case of emergency or other personal good reason,...

We stayed two nights in a vehicle camping site. The site was amazing, right next to a lazy river with sea water flowing up it so a nice sandy bottom, great for kids as there was no risk from waves. The beach is long with beautiful sand. Flush toilet nearby was nice as were the outdoor showers (cold but manageable)....

I cannot even put into words how much of an awesome place this was! My partner and I rented a cabin right on the beach front in early February 2016. We had a comfortable night sleep every night, falling asleep to the sound of the waves. We had a great picnic table/fire pit combo with friendly neighbours, but we were...

Great place to camp! It was perfect for our family of five with twin 7 yr olds and a 4 yr old. We stayed in hale 2 practically on the beach first and fit comfortably in the hut and a small tent outside. Then moved to a plantation suite (S4) for the last few days and had plenty of space...

The best thing we liked about this place was the location. very easy to get to the beach. you can rent all sort of water equipment from the office. the camp ground was maintained very well in general. Things to improve: -**They have a rule of no driving after 7pm and the gates are all locked at 7pm. Unfortunately, there...

We rented a campsite that was near the beach and the bathroom. Parking was great for our site and we were right next to the beach. We pitched two tents, bought all the needed items and had a great stay. Security came around after 8pm to check on the number of people at the campsite. The bathroom was tidy and...

After reading some of the older reviews, I want sure what to expect. Pros: Amazing views Hales are well kept Close to other north shore attractions Cost conscious Cons Gates are physically locked from 7-7. This prevented us from getting into Honolulu for an early hike ( planning ahead and parking outside the gate would have remedied) Spotty cell coverage...

“Cabins towards the southern end are closer to the beach and further from kids areas.”
  • Our little cabin from behind! The sand just a step away.
  • Taken from the little porch of our cabin, our picnic table while we set up the hammock!
