My review is a little different from other reviews I have read. 1st I really loved the dual rooms, and it worked very well for our needs for a family of five. It was also clean and free of any odd smells. It was like getting two rooms for the price of one. For those reasons alone I would recommend this place. Over all we had an good experience. I would have gave 5 out 5, but I did not think staff was very friendly and at times kind of cold. I really got the feeling they didn’t care if you were staying there are not. It was very odd feeling at the check in desk and during the breakfast area in the morning. Others in my party felt the same way. Maybe it has been a challenging year with all the Covid stuff. We also thought it was odd there was no comforter on the king bed. It only had two thin blankets. The back bedroom beds did have one? Maybe you could ask for a additional blanket if needed? The place is close to town, but it would be a little far to walk in my opinion. I would recommend, this place for a large family, it being clean, and the price. Happy Travels

Due to change in travel, we booked one night in the Bar Harbor motel. This no frills motel is located directly across from Atlantic Oceanside Resort, but this little place packs a mean punch. Rooms are clean and spacious, with frig and microwave. It’s conveniently located to Acadia and downtown Bar Harbor. The motel has nightly family events planned for guests, there is a hiking trail in the rear of the property and they’re serve breakfast in the morning. You can borrow hiking poles and binoculars from front office and it’s half the price of the Oceanside resort. Wife and I would definitely stay here again.

A very nice property, located close enough to the town and the park. Spacious and clean rooms, although ours had a smell of humidity in it (deducted 1 point for that). The units are located far enough from the main road to be quiet. The COVID situation is handled very professionally - all employees I observed wore masks, and the breakfast was handled perfectly, ensuring social distancing, one-way movement of people, and as little contact as possible. Would stay here again!

This was our first post Covid-19 vacation and as i was looking for a choice spot in Bar Harbor, BH Motel stood up because of its cabins layout, spread out on its green vast property, making you feel more immerse into nature and in tune with the current social distancing reality. The second big reason i chose it for is their convenient bicycle storage room and direct access to Acadia Park from the back of the property. We rented bikes for 3 days and we had planned to explore Acadia thru its beautiful biking trails so it all worked out perfectly. The location is conveniently located near the Bar Harbor town. You can even bike or walk safely with a wide sidewalk to the center of town. BH Motel employs a staff of local 50+ average age folks which made me like this place even more. The peaceful and serene natural setting of the place matched well with the friendly seniors’ staff who worked hard to make everything work smooth. Since we had a mishap with Enterprise Car rental, we could not get to Bar Harbor on the first night of our booked stay, we called and explained our extenuating circumstances and they waived the missing night fee. That was nice since i booked thru priceline and their refund policy is not accommodating when you don’t show up, so i did expect to get charged regardless. Because of Covid-19, housekeeping doesn’t come into the room until after departure which was totally fine, with a well-rehearsed system of filling up a list of needed items (toiletries, bedsheets, coffee bags for the in-room coffee machine, etc) on a daily sheet hung onto our door. The cafe’ is open for breakfast pickup only with an efficient and fast staff working behind the counter to take our orders. There are outdoor spaced-out tables outside the cafe’ and near the swimming pool. The outdoor swimming pool is a point of delight since it is heated and a great option since you can’t really swim in the cold ME sea. We were told on the first eve of our arrival that we could use the indoor pool at the property across anytime since our pool was closed for the day for maintenance. The room was spacious and immaculate and upon arrival, we found the funniest welcome lobsters made out of towels. The bathroom comes with quality personal hygiene items (shampoo and conditioner made in Italy with a nice fragrance) replenished daily by request. Our room was in a cabin lined up with 3 rooms but insulated enough to barely hear a noise. Walls are thick unlike in a similar accommodation we stayed at in Montauk where we could hear the “neighbors’” every move. This is not a luxury hotel, it’s simple but it has everything you need and the name doesn’t pay justice to the place which can compete with other higher end accommodations. I would name it “a 5 star motel” that offers all the perks for a comfortable peaceful and typical Bar Harbor nature-lover vacation.

Bar Hotel Motel is a great selection when visiting Bar Harbor Location is convenient (5 min drive to downtown Bar Harbor, 5 min drive to the park entrance). Car parked right outside of room, for the easy in and out. It was very quiet. There are 2 chairs and a small table outside each room. Housekeeping was not done but they offer a list you filled out each day for needed items. The accommodation is clean and comfortable.. Room is large, beds are comfy, bathroom is renovated and has a vent and nightlight features. AC unit is strong, new windows, refrigerator (with freezer a plus), and overall nice decor. Wonderful selection for breakfast. It was a grab and go bag (because of covid), but you have a plenty of options: croissant, muffins, pastries, granola bars, cooked eggs, yogurts, fruits, juices, milk, coffee. The staff is courteous and helpful
