This was my first experience staying in a B&B. My experience was wonderful! Anna and Jim were the perfect hosts. They served us a gourmet breakfast each morning that was fit for a king. We were spoiled with pumpkin smoothies, praline pancakes, and eggs benedict just to name a few. I enjoyed our conversations each morning. They would tell us all of the "must-see" places to go around the island and give us helpful hints that only locals would know. For example, Anna told us about a hidden trail that goes on the left side of the Bass Harbor lighthouse that we would have never noticed. Each day after a day of hiking, we would return to homemade sweet treats hanging on our doorknob. Thank you, Anna and Jim! You spoiled us! We loved every minute. I have huge doubts that I will ever enjoy another B&B as much as I did the Coach Stop Inn!…
This lovely inn is an instant smile factor. My friend and I came here for a weekend getaway last month for some time outside. Only mere minutes from downtown Bar Harbour, this house gives the comforting feeling of staying with extended family, rather than a hotel. Check in was safely independent (due to covid guidelines), with a welcome note on the front door with our names and our room number. We were greeted the next morning by the owners who were cooking us breakfast in the dining room. The breakfast menu varied each day and was always a wonderful surprise. I will gladly call the Coach Stop home again on my next to Acadia.
My wife and I have been to numerous B&B's in the US and Europe and found this to be the best experience yet. Jim and Anna are so personable and user friendly. The breakfasts are to die for. Jim and Anna take a great deal of pride in their 1802 circa home with so many personal touches from the umbrellas to the white noise machine in your room. This is a classic B&B and I would highly recommend staying here. Sincerely Gene and Mary Haines
My husband and I typically stay at Bed & Breakfasts when we take off on our long weekend get-a-ways. The Coach Stop Inn was by far the cleanest, most modern (yet with the classic, original charm honored and well maintained) we have been to. The bed was even very comfortable (that’s a biggie) The Inn keepers, Ann & Jim, thought of it all. Their meticulous attention to detail was much appreciated! Not only was the room cozy and clean, the breakfasts were incredibly delish and perfectly filling. Located on Rte 3, just a few minutes from Acadia’s welcome center & entrance and less than 10 minutes from the down town area, we thought the location was perfect. Highly recommend!
Coach Stop Inn provided clean, comfortable, and authentic Maine hospitality in a truly authentic cottage built circa 1806 for our four night stay visiting Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. It's located right on Maine Route 3, a five minute drive to the park entrance and visitors center, and about ten minutes to Bar Harbor. A great jumping off point for any part of the island. Jim and Anna are warm, gracious, and unobtrusive hosts who prepare the most delicious breakfasts one can imagine. We and the other guests we spoke with at breakfast marveled at how we spent each day hiking, exploring, and being awestruck by Acadia's magic but always, in the backs of our minds, looking forward to the next day's breakfast. Highly recommend.
