Covid messed with our wedding plans however we were able to stay at this cute cottage with friends and family. The women who ran the place were the sweetest and most accommodating. Our cottage was warm, cute, and equipped with everything we needed for our stay away from home.
We spend a week traveling from Bar Harbor to Boston and the Bar Harbor Cottages and Suites was our favorite lodging and Bar Harbor our favorite location! Fantastic location, fantastic friendly service! Cozy cottage number 1 had everything we needed and a beautiful view! Close to Acadia and Bar Harbor! I can say enough good things!
Easy access to Acadia entrances and downtown Bar Harbor. The new owners are making the cozy cottages even better. Very comfortable with all necessary amenities. My wife and I stayed for 3 days in Cottage #9 with the gas stove - nice touch for those cooler spring/fall evenings. Highly recommended!
I took a shot in the dark booking a cottage for our stay in Bar Harbor, and was ever so pleased with what we got. We are a family of four (with two toddlers) so it was a perfect, cozy fit for us. Very clean, comfortable and peaceful with just the right amenities to get us through the week. Will definitely return for future visits!
This place is a hidden gem! We came to Maine for the very first time on our “Mini-Moon”, as we just got married back in June. We honestly didn’t know what to expect and went in blind. I took the suggestion of a tour-guide friend of mine and stayed downtown, Bar Harbor. We thought staying on the water in a big, bougie, overpriced hotel would be the way to experience Bar Harbor, ME. Sadly we came to the realization that we had got sucked into a tourist trap, which is not how we normally roll. Not that the big, bougie, overpriced hotel was terrible, but it just wasn’t us(we never even used the pool) After checking out of the big, bougie, overpriced hotel, we decided to stay another night in Maine and we’re so glad we did. Just by chance and the kind recommendation from a local at “Great Maine Breakfast” (Also highly recommend, and the strawberry rhubarb is a must!) we managed to book the last cottage available at Bar Harbor Cottages and Suites. Now for the good part... Upon arrival we were greeted by smiles and genuine Maine hospitality. Check in was quick and pleasant. Our small studio cottage was perfect! We both knew instantly that this was where we should have stayed all along. Our cabin #8 was immaculate, charming and so welcoming that we immediately kicked off our shoes and just laid down to relax and enjoy the silence. Surrounded by colorful, late summer flowers, chirping crickets and a cool breeze from our screened-in porch was more than any big, bougie, overpriced hotel could ever offer us. We had comfort, peace and tranquility. Directly across from a hidden cove(Salisbury Cove-which is a private beach), the small group of cottages are tucked away off the beaten path. The grounds are well kept and each cottage has a screened-in porch, outside picnic table and plenty of privacy. We also had the convenience of a small kitchenette, fridge, microwave, toaster-oven, coffee maker, amazing water pressure and plenty of hot water! To top off our last evening in Maine we spent it sitting outside of our cottage star gazing at one of the most beautiful night skies we’ve ever experienced. Thank you Bar Harbor Cottages and Suites for making us feel at home. We will definitely be back! XO Lori & Ray Odabashian …
