We stayed at the Elmhurst Inn in late April, just before the real start of the tourist season, and would definitely try to stay their again in the future! The Inn itself is beautiful - timeless New England cottage, but with every modern comfort we needed. Our room was spotlessly clean, and well-stocked with towels, blankets, heaters if needed, suitcase racks, iron and iron board, etc. We loved staying in the Bass Head room and sitting by the fireplace after dinner and a day of hiking in Acadia. Breakfast was delicious and served each morning in an adorable and well-lit sunroom that overlooked the cherry blossom tree near the driveway (which was in bloom while we were visiting!). The true standout at the Elmhurst was our host Cheryl. She was there with anything we might need, and she was kind, professional, and friendly. There was a list of local Bar Harbor restaurants and breweries that were all within walking distance, as well as tide and sunrise/sunset info for our adventures in Acadia. During our stay, I needed to mend a small rip in clothing from hiking, and Cheryl was on-hand to provide a sewing kit. I will be telling all my friends that when they go up to Acadia and Bar Harbor, they have to stay at the Elmhurst Inn! Thank you for such a wonderful stay Cheryl!!

I was very pleased with my 2 night stay at The Elmhurst Inn in November. It is well managed & the breakfasts served are to die for. With Bar Harbor being such a small town, the location was just fine. Visited Arcadia NP for 2 days. 3rd floor rooms ("Bee Hive") are adequate and less expensive, but suggest these for a single person due to size.

The Elmhurst is a cozy, conveniently located, Covid compliant spot. You are a ten minute walk away from town center. Our room was spacious, with a fireplace. Cheryl, the innkeeper, provided terrific tips on dining and activities. The highlight of this B&B, was the breakfast each one beautifully presented and prepared perfectly. Loved our time here!

The Elmhurst Inn embodies New England elegance, tradition, and hospitality. The rooms are lovely, comfortable, and well appointed. Breakfasts were absolutely delicious and featured three courses. We cannot say enough about Cheryl, the manager, who serves as concierge, receptionist, waitress, and in any other capacity needed. Our stay was truly phenomenal!

I love this place so much!! It’s gorgeous, the rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated with antique furniture. I love how historic the place is too (originally from 1878). I’ve stayed in three different rooms and I loved all of them. One of them had a little reading room/sun room which was awesome and the other one had a fire place which was functional and they were so thoughtful that they left a fire log and matches there for me so I made a fire and it was so romantic! Everything is thought of at this place. They have fresh flowers everywhere, hot water and a selection of teas and also coffee available at any time, mini fridge... Anything you need is there. The dining room for breakfasts is absolutely gorgeous and full of sun and the breakfast is DELICIOUS (all the guests were saying that, not just me). Their quiche was so good I had to ask for a recipe! And it’s all served in a beautiful classy way. But the best part about it was honestly Cheryl, the inn keeper. The NICEST person you’ll meet and she went absolutely above and beyond to help me with anything I needed I didn’t have a car there and one day I couldn’t find an Uber/cab to take me to Cadillac mountain. Cheryl immediately offered to take me, drove me all the way up in the afternoon and then picked me up in the evening. Unbelievable. You don’t see that kind of kindness in this world anymore. Thank you so much, Elmhurst inn, I had the BEST time and I will be back soon again!
