I will start by stating we love this chain and Hotel Rex was certainly no exception! But...we may have stumbled into a bad weekend for not only Hotel Rex but San Francisco as well! The Oakland Bridge was closed down into the City for reconstruction,...More
We are regular visitors to San Francisco, so we know what we're getting into when we make a reservation. A lot of older hotels call themselves "boutique" when what it really means is old, musty, with a few second hand antiques to give them character....More

Stayed at the Hotel Rex for 4 nights at beginning of Feb 2012. First visit to the West of America, San Francisco and the hotel, which was recommended by BA, was fantastic. Lovely room, 714, which had a extremely big bed, iPod dock, widescreen TV...More

Originally home to rallies supporting the Union Army in the Civil War, this grand square has become the city's premier shopping and entertainment district containing the largest number of upscale department stores, chic boutiques, art galleries and theatres in the city. It's a large open area where tourists and locals gather, watch cable cars and crowds go by, enjoy a snack, or plan their day of shopping and
sightseeing, If feeling the pulsating energy of the city is on your agenda, Union Square is the place to soak it in.

Hello and thank you for choosing us to stay with. It depends. If you are going to use your car valet is worth it at 50 $ a night. But if you were not going to use the car a lot with park and stay (and there are 3 less then a block away.) at 30 $ a night is best. Public transportation is easy and quick here In San Francisco. You of course and park in the white zone out front of the hotel and check in. We look forward to having you and let me know if you have any other questions.
