Stayed at the Hotel Rex for 4 nights at beginning of Feb 2012. First visit to the West of America, San Francisco and the hotel, which was recommended by BA, was fantastic. Lovely room, 714, which had a extremely big bed, iPod dock, widescreen TV...More
We stayed in San Francisco for 3 days to see the sights and made a last minute booking with Hotel Rex because of it's low price and surprisingly high ratings. We weren't disappointed and neither will you be if you stay here. The hotel itself...More
I was in San Francisco in November 2011 and we chose Rex mainly due to the reviews on tripadvisor and its central location. The hotel is right in a not so loud part of the center on the foot of Nob Hill, minutes from Union...More
Just spent 2 nights there. Great, central location within easy walking distance to excellent shopping, Chinatown, the piers, etc. They really take advantage of the age of the hotel with a cozy "library" feel in the reception and dining/lounge areas. People of all ages and...More
This is a different hotel to most chain styles. It has its own unique and quirky style but certainly doesn't lack sophistication. The rooms are generous and welcoming.

Originally home to rallies supporting the Union Army in the Civil War, this grand square has become the city's premier shopping and entertainment district containing the largest number of upscale department stores, chic boutiques, art galleries and theatres in the city. It's a large open area where tourists and locals gather, watch cable cars and crowds go by, enjoy a snack, or plan their day of shopping and
sightseeing, If feeling the pulsating energy of the city is on your agenda, Union Square is the place to soak it in.

Hello and thank you for choosing us to stay with. It depends. If you are going to use your car valet is worth it at 50 $ a night. But if you were not going to use the car a lot with park and stay (and there are 3 less then a block away.) at 30 $ a night is best. Public transportation is easy and quick here In San Francisco. You of course and park in the white zone out front of the hotel and check in. We look forward to having you and let me know if you have any other questions.
