We found this private little gem to be in the most stimulating part of Castro during Halloween. Our room looked out onto the pride flag and down Castro street. Checking in was simple and the room was artfully decorated. Lovely chocolates, water and soda all free located near the front door. Fresh flowers and modern furniture completed this beautiful hotel....

Although our stay was very short, we had a very pleasant experience at the Inn On Castro. Our room was awesome and very spacious. The complimentary breakfast and whiskey were also a plus. The location was perfect and easy to find. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to SF.

I stayed here with a friend on my first visit to San Fransisco and this place is a real gem.. Fantastic, spacious apartment with all the mod cons, great living spaces, amazing private terrace. Love it.

Great location, excellent breakfasts, convenient for public transport. Ernie fell in love with the spacious shower and awesome shower head - best shower he has come across in all our travels. Loved our stay at Inn on Castro - thanks Jan and Meghan

I just returned from Inn on Castro, and continue to love the place. Unlike another traveler, I do not care about boutique soaps and the like. I appreciate the ambiance of the place, the welcoming staff, the location, and overall good value. Breakfast when Jan is there is always special. Conversation with other guests is also a plus. Helpful advice...

This was our first stay at the Inn and it was just what we were looking for! We stayed for two nights in the middle of our 2-week multi-location California vacation. We were upstairs in the white room and it had a fantastic view of San Francisco and was very comfortable, just as we expected. The breakfast were delicious and...

We arrived late due to an unplanned change in our travel arrangements - Meghan was incredible at assisting us. I travel a lot for work, and wanted to experience something 'unique' in San Francisco - but we never expected the added bonus of feeling at home too. Meghan gave us a thorough overview of the City on our first morning,...

The location is amazing. Overlooking the historical Castro area with the transit and subway less than a block away made urban exploring extremely simple. Jan......just lovely. Your hints on places to go and things to do/see and your food recommendations were a highlight. Breakfasts were simply perfect. The staff were gracious and relaxed. Would definitely stay there again...anytime... Thanks you...

They say one can never go back. I have stayed at the Inn on Castro three or four times in the past. Each stay was excellent. But it's been a while---new owners, added rooms, etc. So I was really looking forward to my stay in September, along with some friends. We booked the higher-priced Hideaway Suite and Patio Suite, located...

Finding it impossible to a decent hotel in downtown San Francisco for a decent price I ended up at the Inn on Castro. That day was my lucky day! One night in the B&B and 4 in one of their apartments. The room was cozy, beautiful decorated and spotlessly clean. Breakfast without doubt the best I ever experienced whilst in...

Staying in The Castro

Neighbourhood Profile
The Castro
A flourishing commercial area that acts as San Francisco's LGBT community center and cultural heart, the Castro is a neighbourhood welcome to everyone. As one of the first predominantly LGBT neighbourhoods in the United States and currently its largest, it remains one of the epicenters of activism in the nation. Grand theatres and glitzy shops now compete with bars and fashionable eateries for attention, drawing visitors from around the world to the bright rainbow flag acting as its beacon.
