I will admit that when I first walked in, I wondered what the heck was going on here. Due to the time of year (around Thanksgiving) every surface was covered in Christmas decorations - very old fashioned ones. It was...like nowhere I had ever stayed before. Then I decided to just go with it, and now I can't imagine staying...

Think the movie, Somewhere in Time and you have a tiny glimpse of this Hotel, B&B. Loved the location, easy to find, inbetween Downtown and Japantown, not far from Golden Gate Park or Fishermans Wharf. I had a rental car, so not sure about other transport. Beautiful older building, large bedroom, Canopy bed. Cookies and Sherry in the afternoon. Parking...

I've stayed her twice and was pleased both times. The rooms are full of antiques, the concierge is friendly and the building is charming. The free breakfast is adequate, but I cut them some slack after I receive my free sherry and cookies in the evening.

Period Queen Anne building quite well renovated, small & friendly b&b hotel, large rooms, very helpful concierge & desk staff, close to Fillmore, Japantown & transport but away from the tourist bustle. Tourist areas & shopping within easy reach. On a previous SF visit we stayed in a big name hotel in the Union Square area, but found this more...

Has plenty of ambiance, great location and parking. We have stayed here often and love the antique feel. Rooms are nicely furnished and clean. Food is super~breakfast and afternoon tea are included. Staff this time seemed distracted and as if we were bothering them. In the past they have been very helpful and willing. This time they sat in the...

Entirely clean, nice bath facility, good continental breakfast. Very accommodating staff. The room was cold (no trace of weatherstripping on windows) and remarkably dark. Conversely, if the room were bright, then the wonderful period decor would have been compromised. This 1898 landmark is a great little piece of history. Once I slowed down for a second and got past the...

The Queen Anne hotel's building is more than 120 years old and began life as a girls school. The architecture is wonderful, and the antique furnishings in the drawing room and hallways are a perfect match. Given that it's an old building, one should not expect perfection in some of the rooms. Our bathroom, for instance, had an odd/interesting placement...

You will either like or hate the Queen Anne. It depends on your taste. If you are into doilies and floral patterns, cherub statues and portraits of the ancestors, musty smell of old drapes and chandeliers, then this is the place for you. Not my taste, but I was there for one night only during a road trip. Among the...

Took the advice of other reviewers and booked a room here. It was old, as expected, but very charming. The staff was nice also. We had a problem with no available parking one day but they cheerfully refunded the parking fee (plus tax - tax on parking?!!) This location was great - close to everything. We would stay here again....

My wife and I found a beautiful Bed and Breakfast in the Pacific Heights district of San Francisco called the Queen Anne. The Queen Anne, located on Sutter Street, is a Victorian build in the 1890’s, and has just over 40 rooms. The Queen Anne offers a continental breakfast, afternoon tea and sherry (and cookies) and best of all, local...
