My wife and I stayed four nights in the middle of August. The location was very convenient. The staff was very attentive. The room was nice. The breakfast was excellent. The location in the Castro was very convenient. The other guests were interesting and friendly. This B&B has two floors and 12 rooms. We stayed on the top floor which...

First the good the room was great, the breakfast terrific and the location can't be beat. The bad: After I made the reservation and gave my credit card# to the gentleman on the phone I received an email informing me my card had been charged for the first night which would have been fine but no mention was made of...

We had a lovely stay at the Willows Inn. The inn is very clean and cosy. Our room was spacious with a comfortable bed. The breakfast that was provided daily had a lot of fresh fruit which was very appreciated along with a lot of other breakfast choices (breads, cereals, pastries etc), along with coffee, tea and juices. The washrooms...

The Willows was my first B & B experience. It's in an excellent location to get around San Francisco, and a fantastic value. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I would definitely stay in this B & B again.

Very thoughtfull service, nice, clean and quiet accomodations, the Willows inn benefits from an ideal location (close to public transport, the Castro area and downtown) and offers very sympathic and organic breakfast. Highly recommanded! What else? :)

My daughter and I stayed at The Willows Inn last month for 4 nights. We knew the bathrooms were shared so we had no problem with that. The Inn is pretty nice. Old. We liked the rooms. Breakfast was ok. The same every day. Fruits, cereal, hard boiled eggs, coffee, bread, etc. were laid out on the kitchen counter for...

I spent three nights at the Willows B&B. Its location at Church & Market Streets makes it only steps away from the Muni, and a short walk away from Castro Street. The place is very affordable, and the area is a nice change from the crowded downtown Union Square hotels. I stayed in a two-room suite with another couple. In...

This is one of a few b&b places left in the Castro area. It's conveniently located just around the corner from Church Street Station on 14th Street next to a Safeway 24hours supermarket and in easy walking distance to bars and restaurants on and around Castro street which is well known as the LGBT neighbourhood in San Francisco. The hosts,...

Staying in The Castro

Neighbourhood Profile
The Castro
A flourishing commercial area that acts as San Francisco's LGBT community center and cultural heart, the Castro is a neighbourhood welcome to everyone. As one of the first predominantly LGBT neighbourhoods in the United States and currently its largest, it remains one of the epicenters of activism in the nation. Grand theatres and glitzy shops now compete with bars and fashionable eateries for attention, drawing visitors from around the world to the bright rainbow flag acting as its beacon.
