Willows Inn was an ideal base for my recent week long visit to SF. Conveniently situated just off Market Street with easy access to Metro and street car transport and in an area packed with cafes and a nearby branch of Wholefoods, this was a great find. I stayed on what the Americans call the 3rd floor (2nd for us...

40 y/o husband/father: Our stay at the Willows was great. 2 room suite was spacious and well-maintained. Bathrooms and showers were down the hall, but individual and never full. Staff were friendly and helpful, and rates were reasonable, especially given how expensive San Francisco is. Great location, too. My only complaint would be that there were no hot items at...

The place is charming and convenient. The hosts are outstanding! Perfect balance of friendly, informative, warm, professional, and unobtrusive. Someone's there when you need them and they act interested and delighted to help find you the information or solution and yet they don't hover. Hospitable kitchen too!

This involved a spontaneous trip to the West Coast, which is a whole different story! My first time in San Francisco. I decided to go with this one after arriving and noticing that I SHOULD get a room. LOL. I was so happy with my choice! The reviews are right. I'm glad I did this instead of a Hotel because...

A fantastic Bed an Breakfast hides behind an unprepossessing door at the junction of 14th and Church, Do not be concerned for within lurks a place where service and friendliness is second to none! Great rooms ( no AC - not necessary) with big beds and a breakfast that sets you up for the day. We also benefitted greatly from...

Relocated to this B&B after hotel I was staying in Oakland overbooked and didn't have opening. Great location, JoJo and Mike are awesome hosts, clean, fun, fresh, convenient. Most definitely will return again for longer stay next time around!

My husband and I stayed here for two nights in May, and we found it the perfect base for a short trip to San Francisco. We were arriving really late, so I'd emailed with Mike in advance and he gave me very detailed instructions on how to access the Inn, our room, and where to park (the Inn has limited...

My friend and I only stayed one night at The Willows Bed and Breakfast Inn,we were meeting out of town guest for dinner at R and G Lounge located in China Town, (Excellent family style Chinese food). Upon arriving we were unable to find parking on the street, no worries though because we had requested parking. At $15.00 per night,...

I stayed there for 3 nights in June. The Willows is conveniently located around the corner from the Church MUNI station and the Market St streetcars that take you downtown. The place is very clean and well maintained. The fridge has a supply of juices and yogurt and the breakfast was very good for a continental breakfast although the space...

My husband and I stayed here for four nights. The Inn is very clean and tidy with lovely breakfast. The streetcar is just across the street to get into the city for $2. Lots of nice eating places around. A very safe area. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Staying in The Castro

Neighbourhood Profile
The Castro
A flourishing commercial area that acts as San Francisco's LGBT community center and cultural heart, the Castro is a neighbourhood welcome to everyone. As one of the first predominantly LGBT neighbourhoods in the United States and currently its largest, it remains one of the epicenters of activism in the nation. Grand theatres and glitzy shops now compete with bars and fashionable eateries for attention, drawing visitors from around the world to the bright rainbow flag acting as its beacon.
