Whilst researching where to stay in SF, we were shocked by the hotel prices....so through recommendations we were thrilled to 'find' Chateau Tivoli. It is a delight- Arts & Craft style and beautifully renovated over the years. My main problem generally with B&B is that I don't want to sit in my room sipping wine (or whatever) & nibbling crisps.... More

Hubby and I enjoyed staying here; we were comfortable and well looked-after. It was good to chat with visitors from the USA, Germany, France and others - interesting discussions! The building has been lovingly restored/decorated, and holds some fascinating objects and art. We found our way around SF easily by bus, which goes form around the corner from Chateau Tivoli.

Have just stayed here for 3 nights - a very different place to stay, our room was spacious but quite dark as befits this style of property. We had a very warm welcome arriving early - we left our luggage and on our return it had been taken up to our room. The afternoon wine and cheese was really nice... More

What a lovely surprise Tivoli is. So much character and each room is uniquely gorgeous. The team, Bridget, Nico and Janet are amazing hosts and super accommodating. The evening wine and cheese events are a super relaxing way to end the day.

We stayed here about 5 years ago on our previous trip to San Fran from Australia. That time was so good we booked in again. Once again we received a very warm welcome and s beautifully decorated room. We stayed on a Saturday night which meant that we got the great weekend cooked breakfast with champagne. We also were helped... More

We were guests at Chateau Tivoli at the end of July. What a treat! So glad we did not stay in a downtown property. We walked everywhere. Our hosts could not have been more accommodating or informative. Delicious breakfasts with other guests. Our days were full and we ended up back at the Chateau for some great wine/ cheese and downtime... More

David, Nicolas, and Bridgette are excellent hosts; the home is a grand step-back in time; and the surrounding area is an excellent location for a SF visit. We really enjoyed our stay, the hospitality, and our rooms - not a thing lacking.

This house, the most famous of "Painted Ladies" home is a wood workers museum. It is spectacular in a very classic 1800 Victorian fashion. The rooms are beautiful. There is wine and cheese served every evening. Breakfast is served at a communal table which makes it an experience in its self. Weekends they serve a 9:00 and 10:00 champagne brunch... More

Our first stop on a 6 day vaca in California. What a GREAT place! We had the Aimee Crocker room which was lovely. Arrived just as the wine and cheese time was ending (6:00 pm) but they kept it open just for us, can you say gracious? Next morning, we needed to leave before the champagne brunch (9 & 10... More
