The deluxe queen room in which I stayed had two windows facing a very busy intersection that made the room so noisy that it was unpleasant to be in. I could only sleep with earplugs and a pillow over my head. This intersection allowed tourist buses and trucks which many other streets do not. The front desk could not move...

I have heard about the property more than once and was glad for the chance to check it out firsthand. Tjere is free street parking. What's great about Marina Inn? Well, it's hard to complain about the rates. Some of the best you can find to be in the Marina District or San Francisco, period! If you book ahead online...

We stayed here in late May and were worried after reading some reviews on Tripadvisor. We were pleasantly surprised with the stay.Upon arrival we were greeted by a very nice woman on the reception desk.I think her name was Yolanda and she was very pleasant and helpful.A few days later we asked another young woman at reception for some information...

1940's hotel I guess. The front desk has tons of city info which is great. The room is cozy and it isn't dated, it's the hotel style, we liked it. Our bathroom had a Phillips Infra Red bulb which was really funny. Vending machines on the ground floor. Pick this place as a well located hotel. Breakfast is croissants, eggs,...

I was disappointed to find the Marina Inn's beat up, aged (not in a good way) furniture and linens upon arrival to the Inn. The bed blanket, one of those old foamy looking ones, had some holes in it - and was replaced promptly upon asking - but gave off the feel of a run down, not taken care of,...

If you are on a budget, and you are looking for decency, I would recommend this place. It is in a great location, and the neighborhood is safe. The marina inn is not far from several of San Fran's most popular attractions. The rooms are a bit old, but overall clean. I've read a lot of complaints about noise from...

We have stayed at the Marina Inn several times over the last couple of years. It is a charming 1920s building with small, but cozy and clean rooms. The staff at the front desk are always nice, helpful and friendly. In the morning they have breakfast with hardboiled eggs, instant oatmeal, muffins, coffee and OJ. It's pleasant and in a...

Good location, very near bus stop, bit of a long hike to Bart. Clean, small but neat. Helpful at desk. Would advise you use ear plugs, noise from Lombard is constant. Liked the old windows.

This hotel is near bus routes to take you to the most popular sites in San Francisco. The rooms are small but clean. It could do with refurbishing and painting fairly soon. There is a helpful staff at the reception desk and plenty of advice on activities, transport, taxis etc. Although the hotel is basic, there is a lift/elevator to...

Great location. We were able to walk to Fisherman's Warf to rent a bike. There is also a bus stop at the end of the block. Stayed in a "Deluxe Queen" room but it was still very small. We had a room without a bay window, I think that the DQ's with bay windows may be bigger but then you...

Staying in Marina District

Neighbourhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighbourhood into a party-going hotspot.
