My husband and I stayed here for two nights. Hotel staff was excellent. We enjoyed the free breakfast, refreshments and happy hour. Delicious wine and appetizers along with great conversation with fellow guests. I would suggest ear plugs bc there is no ac and if you have to leave the windows open, you will hear street noise. Great location within...

Tucked in amongst the big name hotels in downtown San Fran is a real jewel - the Petite Auberge. Convenient to everything - especially public transportation - this safe, comfortable and cozy hotel has amenities you cannot find in the name brand hotels. There is happy hour with free wine and appetizers, full spread breakfast and a well stocked beverage...

We stayed here for five nights at the end of June. The staff was incredibly helpful, friendly, and approachable, and definitely the best thing about this hotel. Our room was as advertised, with good use of space and plenty of storage for two people. We selected this hotel based on location and amenities (free wifi, complimentary breakfast, etc.), and were...

SF is a gorgeous city but it is expensive! I brought my son to visit, and we decided to stay for a while in the North Beach (Little Italy area), and then move over to Union Square. I was looking forward to this room- I asked for a room 'not too noisy' and able to get to by stairs- we...

This place is great! The staff is friendly and they have a fully stocked pantry which was an unexpected nice touch. The rooms were clean and they respect your privacy. My only complaint would be that our room didn't have an air conditioner so we had to leave the windows open and SanFran can be pretty noisy at night!

I stayed for three nights. It is very quaint and old fashioned. Great bed to sleep in, super comfy, however I unfortunately had a room next the elevator which is extremely old and noisy. I wasn't able to switch rooms for the three nights. The floors are very creaky and pipes loud, so I could hear my neighbours and people...

I found this hotel on TripAdvisor, which has never steered me wrong, and this hotel was no exception. Positives - staff is excellent, very friendly and accommodating. Rooms are good sized and well appointed. Used the fireplace a lot during the middle of summer. Water pressure is AMAZINGLY strong and hot water is instant. They have a very old, very...

The personal touches, the helpful and personable staff, and the tasty breakfasts and afternoon receptions make a very pleasant stay. We're sad to see the charming French style in transition to a more generic modern one. Loved the comfortable bed, the cozy fireplace, and the convenient bathrobe.
