Never stay here. Cleaners stole our money during room service cleaning. When I angrily confronted them about it they admitted to taking it and gave it back. We were lucky but he next person might not be so fortunate. Don't risk it folks.
The Hotel is in a perfect location. Right around the corner from Union Square (if shopping is your thing you will find there everything you might need). The room was on the smaller side with an unnecessarily big bathroom but it was clean and the...More
This is NOT a place for an anal retentive germophobe. It's a very unique and entirely unobtrusive gem esconced in the heart of one of America's most attractive and vibrant cities. It's connected to a great little deli that is also connected to a pretty...More

Originally home to rallies supporting the Union Army in the Civil War, this grand square has become the city's premier shopping and entertainment district containing the largest number of upscale department stores, chic boutiques, art galleries and theatres in the city. It's a large open area where tourists and locals gather, watch cable cars and crowds go by, enjoy a snack, or plan their day of shopping and
sightseeing, If feeling the pulsating energy of the city is on your agenda, Union Square is the place to soak it in.

Yes definitely ditch the car. A friend of mine got her car towed and San Fran has the highest fine in the US i was shocked! She had to pay $550 (yes $550!) to get her car out, they don't even offer a payment plan-nothing. No mercy. The signage too was placed lower on the post (knee length, so when passenger opened the car door, the door blocked the sign so thats how she missed it.
Anyways, no car is necessary, BART is highly efficient. Use LYFT/Uber if needed. For me I signed up for Lyft right before my trip (watch out for deals) and got $50 credit split into 10 rides which was VERY useful.
If you need a car for long distance travel to the woods or yosemite or anythin, just rent if for those planned days. Its quite affordable at $40+ a day.
