Perfect location in beautiful Nobhill neighborhood. Walking distance to restaurants and a 15-20 min walk to pier (Biulding 1). Service was good as always is at Intercontinental hotels. There were some stains on the carpet in the lobby waiting area, think the lobby may be in need of some new carpet and couches or at minimum a deep cleansing. Room...

Not what we expected for the astronomical price we payed for a room. We booked a king bed room but were given a room with 2 double beds. My husband and i had to sleep on separate beds! The mattresses aren't comfortable. If you go near the side you start sliding off the bed. The hotel needs to redecorate and...

We had a good time here with our 2 boys. Good French restaurant around the corner and a local why with a basketball court for the kids. The in-house restaurant was very good as well. The staff is super friendly and accommodating.

Wonderful hotel in a great location. Close to many sights including China Town. Wonderful bar at the top with spectacular views. We had adjoining rooms with our teenage sons which worked out perfectly.

The intercontinental is a nice metropolitan hotel in a great location. With views out most windows, at the top of nob hill, you can easily walk to union square or north beach (albeit you will have to return up a big hill). The rooms are nicely decorated, but nothing out of the ordinary of what you would expect from an...

This hotel came highly recommended by my colleague so I had high hopes. Although I really like some aspects of this hotel, I think it lacks that special touch in the area of customer service and attention to details for a hotel of this class. My first night was not a pleasant one because the old window was not sound...

This remarkable historic spot is a great area to look 'down' on San Francisco. Take the cable car if you don't want to go up Nob Hill, but I recommend walking around in the area, visit Grace Cathedral and its little park for lunch. Not really a lot of places on top of the hill (but the fancy, expensive hotel...

We have stayed at many San Francisco hotels, but the InterContinental Mark Hopkins is our favorite. It is centrally located on top of Nob Hill, a downhill walk to Chinatown or Union Square, for the return you can take the cable car or Uber. Staying on top of Nob Hill has its benefits, for one the view from the rooms...

The is located at the top of Nob Hill with ocean views in 3 sides and tram car running nearby. If you plan to walk anywhere it is downhill out but Serious uphill back. The hotel is like stepping back into the 1930s and the top of the Mark bar is a must for evening visit. Slightly fewer facilities than...

The hotel is nicely located at the top of Nob Hill and is somehow famous; the entrance lobby is elegant. There's a small supermarket nearby and, as long as you don't mind hills, it's easy to walk to Union Square or the waterfront. And yet... It is nice enough, but the rooms are small and have very have thin walls...

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
