Fantastic 3 nights at the Scarlet Huntington. Service and welcome was warm and friendly. Location - Room had an amazing view over the city - but I can imagine that this is a bit hit or miss depending on the side of the building you are on. (208 was amazing). At the top of Nob Hill, california cable car is...

The pluses - great location at Nob Hill, your next to the Fairmont Hotel, Grace Cathedral, China Town (easy 2 block walk down - back up is another story) and the cable car stops right by the hotel. The lobby is a little dated, but we were given a corner room looking right out at Grace Cathedral. The room was...

Dear mhjvermont, Thank you for your kind words. I'm delighted to hear that you consider us the best experience you've ever had! The hotel is located at Nob Hill and there is a stop of California Street street car just in front of the hotel. Union Square and Chinatown are also at a walking distance (the Hotel is up the hill, so it is easy to go to those places but not as easy to come back to the hotel). The room...

This place would like to pass themselves off as a boutique version of that but I have to say they are not even close. Aside from the fact they made me wait over 3 hours for my room and lying to me for the first 2 hours of why it was not ready, the service in most departments was sub...

The renovations have definitely changed the feel of this still somewhat quaint hotel, for the most part an improvement though as some guests have noted the rooms are hit or miss. Try for an upgrade or a view of Grace Cathedral if they have one left. It's a nice location. As with many modern hotels they're struggling with what do...

Dear Darryl L., Thank you for your considerable and entertaining review. I very much enjoyed your concluding note- "Before I die, I want to stay here again". Staying in Nob Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
