Remodeled and the perfect location. Staff was professional and polite. Room was perfect. They even have complimentary umbrellas in the room. Little things make a difference. All types of food and attractions close. Walking distance to everything you might need. Restaurant in the hotel was great for breakfast.

I went for the Chinese New Year celebration where The Chancellor has a front row seat to the parade. The staff was highly accommodating and very friendly. The location on Union Spare was perfect for an out-of-towner (although I used to live in the city) to get a solid feel for SF without having to walk far. I would definitely...

I have been here before. So far the service has been good. I wish they had a better selection for breakfast. Maybe they need some other items, such as hot oatmeal and bacon. Great service by the staff.

This hotel is very well located near Union Square. We got there by rental car, which we dropped of at O'Farrel street, which is a short walk away from the hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful. Our room was large enough for two. Everthing was very clean and kept clean during our stay. Little downside, I think due to the...

A very clean and attractive small hotel with friendly staff, high standards, and a great location. I have stayed there many times in the past and this was my best experience ever. I was traveling alone and it was so nice to be warmly received and well taken care of by the Chancellor's excellent staff.

I spent 3 nights for a work conference in San Francisco, it was well located for me to walk to the conference. It is a short walk to a lot of restaurants and bars and is right next to Union Square so definitely good if you plan to do some sightseeing. The room was small but I was only there...

Comfortable bed, excellent location with the trolley car pickup/drop off outside the hotel. Renee & Bryce at the Front Desk are excellent ambassadors of the hotel and San Francisco. Lovely Edith who works the Concierge desk was very helpful and always had a smile on her face.

This hotel is in a great location in Union Square which is why we chose it. We made our reservations through a third-party so when we got there we were given a room with two twin beds! We had no choice or opportunity to switch rooms because we were informed that they were full. We decided to make the best...

We have stayed at the Chancellor many times and continue to return again and again. The location is wonderful. The rooms are small, but they are nicely furnished and very clean. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The price, relative to others in the area, is always very fair.

We stayed for 5 nights in November in a standard room on level 9. The room was nice, the bed was very comfortable! It was however small, we had trouble finding a spot for both of our suitcases. The bathroom had a good shower and bath too. The location is fantastic, cable car is right outside the hotel as well...
