Being from the south, I tend to expect people to be just plain nice. San Francisco has always been my favorite city in California because of many things, but mainly the friendly people. The Del Sol hotel was provided by a client of mine due to the location in Pacific Heights. Walk to anywhere from here, beautiful scenery, close to...

Clean, pleasant, comfortable decor. Off Lombard far enough to be QUIET at night. Excellent desk staff. Friendly housekeeping staff. Parking and WiFi included. Heated pool. Continential breakfast in the morning and coffe and tea available all day. Terrific location for driving, using Muni and walking. Nice neighborhood with lots of eating choices. Overall - a great value for a hotel...

This property was well located, very convenient, and had free parking. The front desk attendant, Tiffany, I believe, was super friendly and helpful. If I'm staying in San Francisco on my own dime, I may stay here again. The breakfast was pretty average continental. Bagels and pastries. The wifi connection was completely useless, which was unfortunate. I needed it for...

The reviews here got it right! Perfect location, great service, clean rooms. We will be back. We got an upgrade to the Jr. Suite. Gab US a nice sitting room for visiting. We didn't. Bring our kids or dog this time but will when we return. We walked to the Marina and farmers market at Fort Mason Sunday morning, and...

Good location and at a very good price, with free parking. Rooms are a good size but wouldn't want them any smaller. Breakfast was ok but could be drastically improved! Within walking distance of most places however a car would be recommended for getting around

Last minute booking and was traveling with my two dogs and not many places at this price point ($100 a night) take them - for FREE! Once I got to the property, into the room, had a stroll around the neighborhood, I was really happy with Hotel del Sol. Free parking, free Wi Fi, well heated pool, clean room, comfy...

This is a sweet hotel located on the corner of Webster and Greewnich. There are lots of cute shops and restaurants, plus the Kabuki theater within steps of the hotel. I didn't use the swimming pool, as it was a bit chilly, but i saw others in there and they seemed to be having fun! The room was clean, with...

Needed a place to stay for our company holiday party this year. Looked for a small hotel with good reviews and found Hotel Del Sol. Our experience was fantastic. Great location for night life, sights and easy walking to restaurants. The property was really warm and inviting, well maintained and staffed by very friendly and professional people. I made the mistake of booking late for a conference at the Moscone Center and hence had to get a hotel quite a bit further away from the convention center than I would have liked. Under the circumstances, the Hotel Del Sol was a good compromise between proximity and price. We took a 30-40 minute bus both ways (an adventure...

We stayed here in October 2012 for 3 nights. Not sure what was going on that weekend in San Fran, but scoring a suite at this hotel for $400/night including "breakfast" and parking was a deal. The breakfast was a bit of a let down, just continental with nothing hot. However, the free parking, great location, and activities for kids...

Staying in Marina District

Neighbourhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighbourhood into a party-going hotspot.
