We booked a double queen room for four people, and they gave us a suite with two rooms separated by a door, with a shared bathroom. The suite was very spacious and clean, and had everything we needed. The towels were white and smelled fresh. The bathroom was basic, but usable. Toiletries were included and the room also had a...

This is an older hotel that is located more in a neighborhood but has a great location to many of the various sights of the North Beach, Fishermen's Wharf, Marine Park Areas. The hotel staff is friendly & helpful, the rooms are well kept and comfortable. Free parking comes with each room reservation and this is great due to the...

Hotels in San Francisco are very expensive. In 2011 we stayed at the Chancellor Hotel in Union Square but there were no vacancies this time, so I looked for other options. Eventually I found the Columbus Motor Inn, which had better rates and also free parking, which is an exceptional value for SF. Location is very good, the neighborhood is...

I chose this hotel because it was very difficult to find a hotel in this area that we could stay in one room as a family of 5. Another plus is free parking. The hotel has a wonderful location, close to everything, walking distance to most attractions. The rooms are spacious. However, the hotel is so run down and creepy!...

Hotel is definitely outdated. Room was quite large, bed was comfortable, but furnishings, bathroom fixtures are old. Best thing about it was price which includes free parking and the location was great - close to Fisherman's Wharf, Starbucks and a Walgreens. It's a 10-15 minute walk to Washington Square area in North Beach with lots of great restaurants. I'd probably...

There is so much good stuff with this hotel. We had 4 nights here, and would not hesitate to stay again. The guys on the front desk were brilliant - great advice on where to go to eat, walking to the wharf, North Beach, Pat's Cafe (for breakfast) and what not to miss while in town. They advised us to...

I wasn't expecting much so I wouldn't be disappointed. I wasn't. The front desk guys were very nice and I could park my car there for free even before we checked in. The room was great and even had a balcony. It was clean all around. Big screen TV and no ugly pictures on the wall. Its about a 10...

Stayed 4 nights here and here's my review. Pros: Staff are friendly and polite. Even has an option for us not to require house keeping which i think its great. We don't wash our towels daily so there's no need to do so on holiday. Neither do we empty our bins daily. Great move towards environment conservation. Many tv channels....

We stayed here back in 1985! When we planned to spend a few days in SF, we looked it up to see if it was still around. Still a great value and a great location in SF. We walked down to Fisherman's Wharf, also to Lombard St, the Cable Car Museum, and Coet Tower (yes, we did a lot of...

Staying in Russian Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Russian Hill
Russian Hill has evolved into a chic residential neighborhood with outstanding views from every corner. Combined with several great cafes, restaurants, antique shops and boutiques, it’s easy to see why any visitor would gladly leave their heart in San Francisco. Cars line up day after day to drive down Lombard Street, the “crookedest” street in the world, and make the slow creep downhill past charming period homes. Polk Street is the main drag in this neighborhood, where you will find trendy bars, cafes and shops populated with locals, but for one of the most charming rides in the city, grab a cable car heading up and down Hyde Street.
