I chose to stay at Columbus Motor Inn for my San Francisco visit, based on the many positive reviews on the hotel. I have to say that I was not disappointed. In fact, I very much agree with all the positive points written about it, as my stay there was very pleasant. The front desk staff, especially Joe, was very...

We have made several visits to San Francisco. We always stay at the Columbus Motor Inn. It is in a great location, good people, and Free Parking. It is always clean and easy to get into and out.

Near Wharf, cable cars, public transportation, restaurants!! Got friendly assistance every day for directions and advice! Our room 307 was huge! King size bed! Very clean! Great bed! Shower pressure was nice! Quiet on third floor! We would stay here again!

family of 4 with 2 lads aged 16/14. had a 1 bedroom suite on 3rd floor facing Columbus. No issues with the noise. Apartment clean & free wifi worked without issue. Front office staff not overly talkative but when questions were posed they answered them all. Great location for the wharf. Pats Cafe around the corner great for breakfast. would...

Another random hotel pick for my USA trip, as we were trying avoid paying the prices offered by the bigger hotel chains for the same area. We stayed 4 nights in two double queen adjoining rooms. The wifi was free and worked well in our first floor rooms. There was free parking (which we only used for an hour before...

This was our 2nd stay at this hotel/motel. This time was for our daughter's graduation. To be fair, this is really more of a motel, but the rooms are very clean, and the parking is free. Free parking in SF is virtually nonexistent, and considering you'll pay between $40 & $70 to park your car, this is a major savings....

Stayed here from the reviews on Trip Advisor. Some I agree, some not so much. Clean & good price for being close to fisherman's wharf. Small parking stalls. Not too friendly front desk people. Real noisy for rooms facing Columbus. Get a room facing back or be ready for the street noise. We heard that but took a chance, hard...

We stayed for 2 nights in July and found it clean tidy and very well located with the extra bonus of free parking. The free parking is what drew us to the Columbus to start with and it was an easy find and left the car there for the day and a half we had in San Fran. Walk to...

We spent 1 night at the Columbus, having just arrived from Australia. The hotel is on a busy road, but our room was quiet and very comfortable. The bed was also extremely comfortable. The hotel is ideally located for tourists between North Beach and Fishermasn wharf - allowing walking distance to most of the key sights in San Francisco. Parking...

Staying in Russian Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Russian Hill
Russian Hill has evolved into a chic residential neighborhood with outstanding views from every corner. Combined with several great cafes, restaurants, antique shops and boutiques, it’s easy to see why any visitor would gladly leave their heart in San Francisco. Cars line up day after day to drive down Lombard Street, the “crookedest” street in the world, and make the slow creep downhill past charming period homes. Polk Street is the main drag in this neighborhood, where you will find trendy bars, cafes and shops populated with locals, but for one of the most charming rides in the city, grab a cable car heading up and down Hyde Street.
