Hyatt Place San Francisco Downtown receives commendation for its array of amenities, such as the enjoyable breakfast options and coffee machines in the rooms, which provide sweeping city views. While the hotel's atmosphere is generally appreciated for its modern touch and comfort, some guests have noted the decor as rather basic. The service staff is recognized as friendly and helpful, though there have been occasional remarks about the speed and efficiency of service. Cleanliness levels have varied, with some guests encountering issues. The hotel's location is a standout feature, offering easy access to local sports venues, dining, and public transit. Our stay was wonderful. Everything from the staff to the location was 10 out of 10. It’s quite close to the ballpark, across the street from a bowling alley, & has a very swanky rooftop lounge. They offer free breakfast for guest and although parking is around the corner it was only $30 a night which is great for downtown SF. I can’t say enough good things about my stay! Just fabulous!

I recently stayed here for 3 nights for an event at the Chase Center (AEW!). Upon check-in, I was greeted with a bag of snacks and beverages for being an Explorist member and put on a high floor room with a great city view. The room was a good size, big bathroom with newer shower. Only complaint about the bathroom was sometimes the shower door was hard to work with to get it to stay closed like some others have mentioned. It only happened one night so no big deal, but would definitely bring up if it was more than that. Housekeeping was very friendly and personable and did a good job cleaning the room daily and being flexible on time since I was also working out of the hotel room as well. The WiFi was good and stable, able to stream via Chromecast to the TV without any lag or buffering, didn't have issues with it dropping on devices. The staff was very helpful in answering any questions I had about the area or what to do etc. The breakfast was surprisingly great for a Hyatt Place, at least compared to the ones that I have stayed at in the past. So Kudos for that! I normally skip breakfast but I actually enjoyed this one I came daily! It was fresh and had good options.

The hotel was in great proximity to the public transit in the area, a 15 minute walk to the Chase Center, literally 10 steps from Oracle Park, and you have a Safeway and Walgreens right down the block if you need anything. Easy to get around, plenty of bars and things to do on a weekend. I would definitely stay here again if I had an event up in San Fransisco!

This is our go to place for S.F. Giants games. The hotel is a 1 block walk to Oracle Park. The hotel is older, but has obviously been refurbished. It is clean, a friendly staff and serves our needs well. It is reasonably priced for S.F. It has a bar, no restaurant, a complimentary buffet breakfast. The quality of breakfast is average at best, but at least it exists. It is a five minute Uber ride to the Embarcadero which has plenty of fine dinning, with a beautiful view of the bay and the bay bridge. P.S. ,a section of the 11th floor is under a disco. It's best to get a room as high as possible but under floor 11, preferably facing the courtyard, as to avoid street noise.

We stay for 5 nights at Hyatt Place. Rooms are ok, but lack of customer focus and service. When we arrived in our room, we had to ask several times for an extra bed for the third person. This happened after the fourth warning. If you have booked for 3 people, this should be done on arrival. Unfortunately, after the first night the trash can in the room was not emptied. Is this due to the lack of tips, which we did not give for the above reasons? The hotel has a beautiful courtyard which we wanted to use for a sundowner on the first evening. We waited an hour and then went to the bar. There we ordered two Aperol Spritz, which could be taken with a measuring cup in a soft drink glass despite their dimensions. We paid $43 for 2 Aperol and 1 beer. Certainly significantly overpriced for the service, which is why we, as well as the other guests, got our own drinks, whereupon at check-in the staff asked the bartender to send us to our room. Asked about the service deficiencies, he said we got it all wrong and wouldn't be talked out of it. Again, service training seems to be appropriate. I spend 100 days a year in the hotel, but I've never experienced anything like this. In my company, such employees would only be deployed in the back office and not in customer-oriented areas.

1. I tried to reach the front desk via the phone in the Room by pressing the "Host" button. But it can accidentally call 911 randomly (sometimes it can reach the front desk, but sometimes call 911). This seems to be a known issue, since the front desk asked me to dial "0" instead. Although it's known, there's no action item to repair the system.
2. The light in the bath room can be automatically turned off (after N minutes). There were two times that it's turned off while I was taking a shower. It doesn't turn back ON, even if I clap my hands or wave my arm. It's a good idea to save energy, but the system has to detect sound/motion before turning the light OFF.

Stay 3 nights at this hotel. One of them the third while sleeping someone tried to enter my room, made the claim to the janitor (night of 18/11. 22:00) indicating that perhaps toilet staff went to change towels, indicating that they would investigate and inform me what happened. They couldn't get in because the door lock was on and the suitcases behind them, my wife screamed and the door closed, I woke up out in the hallway and there was nobody. According to him hotel there are no cameras in the hallway .unpresentable

Very safe and clean hotel. Across from Oracle park. Convenient walk to Chase center. Outside is very nice and pretty safe for downtown. Rooms are nice and clean. Will be staying here again. Only negative is they don’t offer continental breakfast for the price. They do have coffee and tea in the lobby. Continental breakfast can be added for about $14.00 if needed.

This hotel is VERY close to Oracle Park and this was the main reason we selected this hotel for our stay. The overall stay was average. Arrival was a little hectic as there is very limited space to park in front of the hotel and unload your stuff before getting it all up to your room. From there we had to park at a neighboring garage bc theirs was full ($80/day). Room was average. Service was good. At night expect a huge line to get on the elevators because there is a line for a nightclub on the roof that is not managed very well and takes up half the lobby. Breakfast, which is provided, is just as hectic as the space where it is served is way too small for the amount of guests and the staff, as hard as they are working (they were working VERY hard), just couldn’t keep up with the amount of guests so there was a lack of food and the serving and dining areas were quite messy. Likely will not stay here again. But it is very close to the Giants ballpark, if that’s all you’re going to SF to do.

I'm not sure about the USB ports (I would think they have them since this is a very new hotel). They do have food you can grab if you're on the go, but I don't know if it's breakfast related. There is definitely an area where you can run. Just go over to where Oracle Park is and run along the Embarcadero. It is very safe & scenic. It makes for a nice run.

There is parking about half of a block away. Easy to drop off luggage and one person to park and walk back. It was event parking because of a Giants game so overnight was $60.
