The Pickwick was really close to Yerba Buena Center, Union Square and a lot of good restaurants. The service and hotel room was nice. the only problem I had was with hot water so basically the second day I had to take a cold shower, and the was this really loud scary sound comming from the bathroom after turning if...

This might have been the worst hotel my husband & I have stayed at. The room was small, old and smelled like a funeral parlor. Paint was chipping in several areas of the room, the bed needed a new box spring, the pipes rattled when you took a shower, pedestal sink left no room for storage, bathroom door would not...

Firstly, location was great, with easy walks to Union Square, Shopping, etc. Secondly, the location was bad, being on the main run for fire trucks, day and night, with sirens blaring, and horns used at every intersection. Thirdly, the hotel is old, and desperately in need of some renovation. The room we had was small, but comfortable, but the bathroom...

Having arrived in San Francisco without our luggage, thanks to British Airways, the hotel staff couldn't have been more helpful, particularly Eduardo on Concierge and Jackie on Front Desk, both certainly went above and beyond anything one might have expected. As to the hotel have to agree with most other reviewers. Great location, rooms tired but adequate. We were on...

I just checked into this hotel, having never stayed here before, and having booked it on a site that had it rated as three stars. That category has included such hotel brand names as Marriott and Hilton. The room is tiny. There is a single full size bed, which is the largest that the room can accommodate, as even with...

We had some issues with our flight that were out of our control, so we called ahead to let the hotel know about the situation. They were helpful and checked us in the night before our actual arrival, without charging us for the night. Everyone at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The building itself is centrally located in...

When I arrived I had the pleasure to have Greg assist me. Greg went above and beyond to make sure my stay was perfect. I will definitely stay here again just because of Greg. Louie went out of his way to get me a private car. Louie greeted me with a warm smile and was ready to take care of...

In SF for Nike Women's marathon. Booked thru Priceline.com when most other local hotels sold out. Good location, hotel OK, but parking difficult. Park next door at retail shopping center to skip hassle and save yourself $8/day.

I purchased this hotel by bidding $150 a night for a 2.5 star hotel SOMA area on priceline.com. I must admit I wasn't crazy about the pictures posted via tripadvisor but after arriving to the hotel I loved it. Yes the decor is very traditional and not typically my flavor but the staff was super cool (especially the lady that...

We recently spent several days at this hotel. We were delighted with it's location and found the accomodation comfortable and the staff very helpful. I would like to mention Louie Chan and his collegue Jackie in particular, their welcome on Reception and assistance were well above expectations.

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
