Lovely little hotel with great location, good service, apples, cookies, and beautiful French restaurant downstairs. The room itself was miniscule. I booked online based on the photos, and didn't expect the room to be so small. Could barely move around the bed, and hardly any closet space. It was clean, the service was very good, and all else was great....

This was our first time staying at the Inn at the Opera. Over the years we have stayed in other boutique hotels in the area. The Inn at the Opera is, by far, our favorite. There is an feeling of luxury and class. The public areas are appointed nicely, and the restaurant is cozy and warm. Our room was perfect...

This was my first trip to San Fran and I am so very glad that I choose Inn at the Opera. I had an interview in the area and attended SF Opera...it was perfect for everything that I needed it to be. Walking distance to the opera, shops, restaurants, etc...location was perfect for me. The hotel was very nice, my...

The rooms were well appointed but extremely small. Only could fit a queen sized bed in the room with limited manuevering space. Room had no HVAC, only a radiator for heat. Being required to pay for Valet Parking is a sore spot for me, because I only called for the car once a day during our 3 day stay. That...

We recently spent four nights at the Inn At The Opera. We loved it. The rooms were spacious (for San Francisco). The staff was so helpful and pleasant. The continental breakfast was perfect. The bus and trolley lines to anywhere you would like to go are very close by. Best of all is the location. It is right next to...

My experience was so bad I nearly moved. The promised free Internet access didn't work, which was a disaster for me. Fortunately the nearby Arlequin Cafe is wonderful, has free Internet, and is around the corner. I practically moved in there. To be fair, the hotel had the Internet repaired by the time I left. My room was tiny, with...

Inn at the Opera is a small boutique hotel with a friendly staff and great service. It is clean, affordable, and situated next to the Opera House and Symphony Hall. Public transportation makes it very easy to be in the best parts of the city within minutes. Walking in the vicinity is both safe and enjoyable. As a single woman...

We stayed here 4 nights at the back end of a six week RTW and had no intention of going to the Opera! Based upon prior reviews we thought it represented good VFM and it did. Although not in Union Square or Fishermans Wharf the location is fine for a base to explore all that SF has to offer being...

The name suggests that the Inn is only for serious music lovers. It is--but also much more. Its central location makes a car unnecessary because of public transportation and the entire staff stands ready to assist with answers to any questions and willingness to assist. We saw several musical events "for free" and low-cost tickets for other events need to...

Neighbourhood Profile
Hayes Valley
Chock full of designer boutiques, art galleries, funky shoe stores, and great restaurants, it’s hard to imagine Hayes Valley once languished in the shadow of a major freeway. Its removal allowed for the creation of an attractive boulevard on Octavia Street with a community park at its center and dozens of trendy businesses to satisfy visitors looking for a stylish respite.
