Artist's inn is a pleasant place to stay. Location is good for visitors with a car. We had no problem parking at nights. We're out all day anyway. Staying in the studio room you will be up by 7:00 - giant windows let in natural sunlight. Fine with me. The room is huge, with a full kitchen. Two downsides: 1....

I booked at the Artists Inn because a friend was staying nearby. It was really a terrific place. There is one room in the main house (The Garden Room), the rest are behind a charming courtyard. Our room (Virginia's) was a very comfortable large room. My folks booked Robert's Room but were upgraded to the studio. They had a kitchen...

Artists Inn, Fillmore district, San Francisco. Wonderful inn a half block off Fillmore, easy access to several bus routes that will take you everywhere you want to go; great food in easy walking distance. Comfy, funky rooms with great beds surrounding a nifty garden courtyard. Would have loved to spend more time with the owner, Denise, who was lovely on...

Can't say enough good things about the Artists Inn. Hotels in San Francisco are outrageously expensive. The Artists Inn was a great value. Denise was very accomodating. I really like her hands-off approach. She was very friendly and there when we needed her, but wasn't staying up for us and wanting to talk my ear off all of the time,...

We stayed here recently for 3 nights. Denise was upfront about the lack of breakfast and the local cafe offering 50% discount was very good. It may have helped to have a transport map in the room as even by looking on the internet the SF system is hard to fathom. Very handy for the numbers 3 and 1 buses...

We could not have enjoyed our stay at Artists Inn more. Denise is a great hostess and our room (the Garden Room) was just what we wanted. And of course the terrific art made all the difference too. Take Denise's advice and breakfast at the Curbside Cafe. There's no need to sing the praises of San Francisco but Pacific Heights...

We chose the Artist's Inn by default being late attendees at the Salesforce Conference who did not want to spend the hiked rates at the franchise hotels. What we found was a lovely home in pacific heights that offered the kind of AWAY from home experience we did not expect. Low key ,beautiful, peaceful setting away from the bustle of...

We ended our 3.5 months of travel in San Francisco and were looking for a cozy and well kept place to stay for our last 4 nights. We wanted to treat ourselves so staying at a B&B was definitely a splurge, but staying at the Artist's Inn was worth every penny. Our room was extremely clean and so well decorated....

Wonderful! Great live-in-a-home feeling. Nice neighbourhood with lots of restaurants, bars and cafes. Really makes you feel welcome to San Francisco. The owners were on vacation and everything worked smoothly, however it would have been nice to be met by somebody.

Beautiful rooms and a wonderful ambiance in this B&B. Only small complaint is, that as the hosts were on vacation themselves, no breakfast was served. We enjoyed the small yard and especially appreciated the neigbourhood - overfloding with really good restaurants chic boutiques for shopping and inspiration.

“I didn't see all four rooms, but all are probably fine. I stayed in Virginia's Room, which was spacious and comfortable. My folks stayed in the Studio and -wow- I'd try to stay there. It's very large with a kitchen and beautiful light. I thought it was an upgrade, but all the rooms cost the same.”
