I stayed with my girlfriend in a private room, and had no problem. The room was very good, ok the bad could be more comfortable. The shared bathroom in the floor was always clean, had a great quantity (I guess 3, being to two with showers) and also free cold water in the floor. There was a good kitchen and...

I liked this place! Excellent location and friendly staff. My room had an en-suite bathroom which was a bit small. The room itself was not huge, but did the job. Would not hesitate in coming back again!

I think the beds and the facilities could be cleaner. At the end that is the main service! Breakfast was ok though. The location perfect also they are helping about the city what to do where to go etc. They promise discount on parking but that is general price on the other hand the bike cost less than average by...

Not great but I guess you get what you pay for. I'm 35 and I guess that reflects in my review. We stayed in a privat room on the third floor with the windows towards a very noisy street. A guy was singing for hours outside our window late at night. The staff that did cleaning and breakfast were rude...

Stayed 2 nights with a couple of friends and had no issues with the hostel - good location, friendly staff, clean and tidy. Enjoyed the pub crawl that the hostel put on with another couple of hostels nearby. Would stay again - wish I had stayed longer. Decent haul from airport but that's unavoidable. Plenty to do within walking distance.

First time travelling to the States from Australia and this was our first stop. So after the 20 hours flying and sketchy cab ride to the Hostel (landed on Columbus day) we pull up to the desk to check in around 3pm. The guy who greeted us didn't even say hello, look up from the computer (must have been flat...

I would definitely recommend HI - Downtown! Great location and I felt pretty safe in Downtown, despite of al lot of reviews telling to not walk alone around. They have planned things to do during the week and that's good because sometimes makes your life easier and its easy to meet new people :) Everything it was very clean, staff...

Hostel has a great downtown location, near to BART line and union square. Quite a trek to fishermans wharf and others attractions, but do-able! Stayed two separate occasions, first in 4 bed which was good. Room did get road noise from below but building is older and on a busy street! Under bed storage lockers had lots of space but...

I found this place terrific: well run, very clean, good value, and a great location. Good security and fine to walk back to at night (there's another HI in the Tenderloin which I'm very, very glad not to have stayed at. I'm used to urban environments and hate it when people are snobby about what are ultimately vulnerable people living...
