This is probably the best hostel I have ever stayed at. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and try their best for you to have a good time there. It is maintained well and there is everything you need, including stuff for making your own food. Plus, there is free peanut butter and bread throughout the day! Aside from... More

-ime was here. The people are so amazing, that I make it an effort to come by here and see the staff, and hang out with all the amazingly interesting strangers that come by. Everyone here is super friendly, and knows the area so well. If you're new to SF this place is perfect for meeting cool people who know... More

Walked in after spending a full day seeking a roof. They welcomed me woth open arms. I spent two great days and nights, and the staff is from SF so they will gladly advise you, and they even oganize across the city and even sometimes a boat tour. Just plain awesome! The vibe is so californian, it was the experience... More

I stayed at PTW when I was visiting San Fransisco for the first time, and I am so pleased I did!! I was greeted by the friendliest receptionist ever, who took pity on me after a long flight from New Zealand and got my bed ready so I could crash. The staff were super welcoming and gave me very detailed... More

My first time visiting San Fran & spent 7 nights here..... The crew at Pacific Tradewinds were an integral part that made this maiden stay most memorable. Courtney and her team keep the place running like clockwork and still manage to have fun with travelers from all over the world effortlessly. The rooms & communal facilities are kept clean, with... I'm a solo traveller from England and I saw this was pretty cheap and had good reviews. It was a good distance form the city centre and had lots of transport links including the cable car stopping a block away. The beds were comfy, more so than I was expecting, except I could hear everything that was happening in the... More

So sorry to hear about your socks! We do offer a free sock wash as a convenience to guests, but sometimes it gets a bit delayed with other washing. We certainly didn't mean to hold your socks hostage :) While we don't have a specific free breakfast like some hostels, we found that offering free tea, coffee, peanut butter, jam,... More

I was planning to attend GDC(Game Developer Conference) in March in San Francisco and had hard time to find a place to stay. I tried Airbnb and Couchsurfing for weeks but no house is available or the prices are very expensive because too late to apply. I was unbelievably lucky that found this place to stay for a whole week... More

Amazing hostel with amazing people! Couldn't love this place more. I've stayed in hostels across Europe and North America and this was one of my favourite hostel experiences. Staying in Financial District

Neighbourhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
