Although it was a clean hotel,I would not spend another visit in this hotel. Hot water never worked. Located on Lombard street and close to some nice eateries in Pacific Heights and near Chestnut Street. Desk manager was helpful and friendly . Room was hot when we arrived and all windows closed up. It is a very old building and...

Manager was very nice and accommodating. Furniture needed replacing and some minor maintenance and repair would have made the room better, however the room was clean and all we were needing was a clean place to stay. Would stay there again if in San Francisco.

Reserved a room with mini-fridge and microwave . The bathroom was so moldy it set off my wife's asthma. They gave us a smaller room without the fridge or microwave, charged the same price. Heater was held together with flammable twine.

We stayed in Alpha Inn for two nights whilst in San Francisco. We received a good reception, our room was ok however the shower was pretty much the worst I've ever had in my life. It was one puny little stream, the shower head didn't even reach anyway near my head, i.e. Crap. Here's the problem we had with Alpha...

I thought the room was a good value for the money at half the rate of the cheapest motels in the area , our room was clean , the people at the front desk were helpful and kind , helping us to maneuver around the city using the city bus lines and taking time to show us things on the...

In April this year I booked 2 nights accommodation with this hotel - direct on their website. Five days later I emailed to cancel (due to reviews). I didn't hear anything so emailed again. I got a reply asking what dates and replied with those. I emailed twice more asking for confirmation this had been cancelled, no reply. Guessing it...

This place wasn't too bad from the outside. Check in went smoothly and the manager appeared friendly at first. We got our room key and ventured up to the room. It took a while to manage to open the door but eventually we managed and BAM! The smell hit us. The room stunk like mould and a dirty nappy all...

My boyfriend and I were on spring break vacation in San Francisco. We weren't too worried about the hotel as much as we were about the prices. We paid a good amount of money for the poor service we received. When we arrived the front desk clerk was yelling at two guests that had previously checked in. They didn't understand...

This hotel is conveniently located on the western end of Lombard Street but the hotel itself is VERY OLD and needs updating. There is no central air. There was a fan for cool air and a small portable heating fan for heat provided in the room. The room had no ironing board and the hotel could not provide one.

Staying in Marina District

Neighbourhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighbourhood into a party-going hotspot.
