This place feels like relaxing spa: calm, plush and comfy. I love the Fresh brand toiletries - especially the incredible-smelling Soy Shampoo. Fantastic service. Great location along the bay -- stunning views of the Ferry Building and the Bay Bridge. Definitely recommended.

PeanutButters: Thank you for posting such wonderful photos! The Ferry Building and Bay Bridge are iconic images of San Francisco, and glad you were able to capture them from our hotel. Starting in March, the Bay Bridge will exhibit an exciting light sculpture by Leo Villareal. We hope you visit again to witness the beautiful night view of the Bay...

Small hotel with impeccable service. Rooms were tastefully decorated, spacious, clean and quiet. Located near fabulous restaurants and shopping. Whether you are traveling to San Francisco for pleasure or business I would highly recommend this charming hotel.

We love this hotel and stay there, plus recommend it to others all the time. The pricing used to be prohibitive, it is more reasonable now. It's a nice location, much to walk to, the views are lovely. The staff is friendly and approachable, as with all JDV hotels. The current chef at Americano is creative and youthful in his...

We are grateful to have such a wonderful team here at Hotel Vitale and Americano. Our executive chef, Kory Stewart, is wonderful at making unique and delicious dishes for the menu. We spent a very pleasant three nights in one of their deluxe city view rooms in january. Nice decor, medium sized room, but with a very large bathroom. There was a chaise longue and a good view out onto the square outside the ferry building. The location is great for downtown and tourists wanting to be near the water front...

We were in San Francisco for 24 of December and we spent e days with them. We were upset with the staff, they are very unfriendly, the location is good and the Restaurant also but for us that´s it. If we´ll travel again to San Francisco we dont´t go to the same hotel for sure

I stayed in this hotel for 10 days for a business trip. I loved that it is walking distance to the ferry building and has a great view. I had to check in twice for an offsite office event. My first check in the room was small but the second one the room was big and spacious which i loved!...

Lovely hotel, steps away from the boulevard and the water. Nice restaurant too. Be sure to ask for a room with a terras overlooking the Bay. Views at night are spectacular. Hotel is a little 'of center' but still within very easy reach of the action. I particularly liked breakfast and the friendly staff!

We recently moved from SF to LA, so it was a funny thing to find a hotel in SF. After narrowing it down to the Intercontinental and St. Regis, I chose the Vitale because of its location, great rate, and because I want to support JDV. We were so impressed with our stay! The highlights were the beautiful, spacious room...

I've stayed here 3 times and now consider it to me the hotel I've settled on in San Francisco. The location is spectacular, particularly if you can get a Bay side room. What a spot. I can't "SHOUT" enough about how great the Hotel Vitale is. We had a beautiful corner high level room. It looked out over the bay and the Bay Bridge. Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
