Stayed here 3 nights during the big storm of January. Went through 2 umbrellas. Not my first choice (the Royal P. is about a 2 star), but there was a huge convention in town so everything else was booked or charging 5X the going rate, so here we are. The hotel is right out of the 1950's and hasn't changed...

The location can't be beat for exploring SF's Chinatown and "Little Italy" North Beach neighborhoods, plus there is a small parking lot reserved for hotel guests which I consider a gem to find! Yes, the room decor is a bit tired, but our room was clean and comfortable. If you're a light sleeper I would recommend reserving a room that...

Been looking forward to y trip. Managed to get this hotel right in Chinatown. Arrived late in the evening and was given an upgrade to a junior suite. Nothing fancy, just that it has an additional sitting area with sofa which we didn't really used. Room was clean and decent. Luckily there were elevators so we didn't had to lug...

A shabby remnant of what must have been a fabulous motel in its heyday, Royal Pacific's strength is in its location, in between Chinatown and the Italian District and walking distance from Fisherman's Wharf and Union Square. Big rooms and quite clean, but very poor and intermittent wifi, which made daily itinerary planning a challenge.

Stayed at this hotel because the weekend we were there most hotels were asking over $900+ a night. Truthfully I couldn't fault this place, rooms were clean, bed was comfortable and parking was included in the price. Was able to walk to all the tourists spots San Francisco had to offer. Sadly will never return as I found the city...

I stayed here as it was one of the recommended motels on TA´s San Francisco information page and it was very good. The key selling point is that it is relatively cheap (for San Francisco, it is still quite expensive compared to other cities) and that it has free parking. I had a room quite near the back so I...

Choose a room on the backside to avoid the noise from the street. Our room was large with a king bed, sofa, desk area, nice-sized closet, dresser, bath with tub. It was quite clean. Ice machine requires a quarter but ice is really complimentary and the desk clerk will give you a quarter. Close by are bus stops that will...

Stayed just one night. Couldn't check in until 3:00pm had to wander around town for a couple of hours. Room was alright, for sure nothing fancy. Pics are the view from balcony which was fantastic, however A LOT of street noise. No AC but motel provides fans in all rooms which also helps muffle the street noise. Free parking!!! Only...

We stayed here on our visit in San Francisco and really liked it. It is located right by china town and little italy surrounded by restaurants and in walking distance of many attractions! Perfect for a sightseeing trip to SF. The rooms are nice and clean and the beds are very comfy. The free parking is also a blessing!

We are family of 4 with two kids of 16 and 12 - not very picky clients. I would definitely recommend that place to families like our. It is walking distance to Fisherman Wrath and all major locations. Place is clean - even it looks more like motel, but rooms inside pretty clean with free parking that makes that place...

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
As the oldest in North America, San Francisco's Chinatown is an exotic experience. A unique neighbourhood decorated with colourful shops, historic streetlights, hanging lanterns, and pagoda roofs awaits behind the stone-carved dragon gates. Feast on dim sum at the tea houses, or meet the locals who gather at historic Portsmouth Square to play chess or practice Tai Chi. Fish markets, produce stands, tourist shops, jewelry stores, fortune tellers, temples and restaurants come together to create a world unto itself in this historic neighbourhood.
