Stayed here two nights in June. The free parking was one of the attractions; there is a small surface lot and a larger garage underground. Even without paying extra for parking, when all was said and done it still cost me just over $400 for two nights! But anyplace else in the city will cost more + parking, unless it's...

Stayed for 4 nights - basic hotel but good location. SF is v dear for hotels - this was around £145 per night - relatively cheap for here in August. Nothing special but clean enough to serve as a decent base to explore possibly my fav city on earth (so far!) If you want super luxury then get your £250...

We stayed 4 nights. decor old but clean so we were happy and free parking. 20 minutes walk from nearly everything - Alcatraz ferry, fishermans wharf and Union Square. It's right at the north end of the main Chinatown street.Coffee next door, Walgreens around the corner, bus stop on the corner. Perfect for us and would recommend. We paid a...

We live an hour from San Francisco and usually visit at least once a year. For the best rate in the city we stay at the Coventry in the Marina area but this time we wanted to have dinner in North Beach so booked the Royal Pacific because they have free parking. Just to be safe, booked their "junior suite...

Royal Pacific Motor Inn, 661 Broadway, San Francisco, CA 94133 Two couples were travelling together undertaking an epic road-trip covering Nevada, Arizona and California over a three week period – day 11, 12 & 13. The staff behind the reception counter was very helpful upon arrival and check-in was quite painless. We stayed in the second floor Room 318. This...

It was a different view of San Francisco. I have stayed in San Francisco many times. This hotel made for a very fun different experience. The hotel is located on the edge of Chinatown. You can walk to the docks and water in a few minutes. If you enjoy Chinese, there are lots of good places to eat. The hotel...

I stayed here one night in April. My room was on the third floor. It was clean and very quiet.I did not hear any street noise as other reviewers mentioned. I had a quick check in and check out. I left my car with the valet and was given the keys early the next morning during checkout. I was working...

The outside of motel looks scary but the rooms are clean and quite nice. It is close to everything. Lots of good restaurants close by. The area felt safe even though it doesn't look that great. The street the motel is on has garbage on the street but only 1.5 blocks away in The Italian Restaurant area the streets are...

This was a very nice hotel. The rates were reasonable and the location was perfect. We were within walking distance of the BART, the piers, nob hill, Little Italy and downtown. The hotel could use a bit of renovating but the room was very clean. I would definitely stay here again. One word if you stay here and walk to...

My Room was cleaned and stock as needed for a motor inn. Love the free parking! And the location is so convenient to so many sites, attractions and restaurants! I would stay here again the next time I'm in SF!

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
As the oldest in North America, San Francisco's Chinatown is an exotic experience. A unique neighbourhood decorated with colourful shops, historic streetlights, hanging lanterns, and pagoda roofs awaits behind the stone-carved dragon gates. Feast on dim sum at the tea houses, or meet the locals who gather at historic Portsmouth Square to play chess or practice Tai Chi. Fish markets, produce stands, tourist shops, jewelry stores, fortune tellers, temples and restaurants come together to create a world unto itself in this historic neighbourhood.
