What I like about Stanford Court is that it feels like a grown up Ace Hotel in that the decor and surroundings offer the same vibe but I'm not going to be awakened at 3:30 in the morning by an amateur DJ.

As someone who has been staying in hotels in SF for the past six months, Stanford Court has by far the best hotel gym-- even better than the Fairmont which is a third-party gym any way.

The rooms are on the smaller side but they are still comfortable enough to get work done without feeling claustrophobic. The bathrooms are spacious. They have heated towel racks, too which is a first for me. The toiletries smell pleasant enough.

I can't speak for all the rooms but mine had an amazing view. The cable cars do run past some rooms, so if noise is an issue, see if you can get a different room. They do provide earplugs in each room, but once it gets past a certain time they stop running anyway.

Jorge and staff do a great job of keeping the drinks flowing, same with the food. The drinks are fantastic the food is good, too. There's no room service in this hotel, but if you call them you can go downstairs in 20 minutes and it's ready to go.

The hotel is deceptively big, too, in a good way. There's always a quiet spot in the spacious lobby if you need to get some work done outside your room.

As for the location? It's Nob Hill. What more do you want? Five minute walk to Chinatown, ten minute walk to FiDi, and twenty minute walk to the East Cut. Can't beat it.

Will definitely stay here again.

We stayed in this hotel for about a week. We chose a larger junior corner suite because we got a AAA deal for a discount and free parking (normally $60/day). The hotel has been recently renovated. We didn't know it, but they'd only been open for two weeks when we stayed there. You'd never know it by the customer service, which was excellent. Check in was smooth. The employee who worked the breakfast counter was always friendly and even learned our orders by the third or fourth day. They have breakfast in buffet form but it's quite expensive. However, you can order small items such as oatmeal and eggs a la carte for much less. Location wise, the hotel is near Chinatown atop a couple of typically steep San Fran hills. It's at the intersection of two cable car routes (though the cable car system seems a mess right now). It is easy to get there from anywhere, and you're closest to the safe Nob Hill neighborhood. Our room was spacious. We liked that the bathroom sink was outside of the toilet and shower, as we were traveling with two grown kids and needed for one of us to be in the shower while another was getting ready at the sink. The room included a safe and coffee/tea service. There were also ample outlets, which I usually find lacking in hotels. Overall, a great experience and we will be back!

I stayed for one night and the experience was great. The location of the hotel is fantastic. Right in the middle of everything. There is a nearby cable car stop as well. The check in was fast but they charge all their guests a Bundle Resort Fee worth $34 per day which comprises of gym, electric rental bikes, iMacs in their lobby, etc which I found to be completely useless. It should be charged only if someone uses it. I checked in at 11PM and checked out on the next day at 9 AM so obviously I didn't have the time to use any of these. Anyway, the rooms were quite spacious and luxurious. But the lighting was very dim. There were just 3 lamps in my room and one of the lamps didn't work, so the overall brightness of the room was quite dim. The hotel's in house restaurants closed at 10:30 PM. I checked in at 11 PM and was quite hungry. I asked the receptionist what the other options for dinner were and he said you can use Uber Eats to get food delivered. I mean, which hotel closes its in-house restaurant so early? Also, the hotel's lift was not working so we had to use the service lift which was all the back in the kitchen. The staff were helpful and courteous though. All this for a nightly price of $195 was definitely not worth it. My company had decided to make me stay here for one night and 2 other nights at Hilton and the Hilton was much cheaper ($120 per night) and way better than this hotel.

Recently reopened, but not up and running. Obviously understaffed and much diminished since our previous visits. If they charge full price, plus gouging $60/ night for parking, they should be fully operational Fey casual atmosphere, no reception desks, employees in dungarees, deliberately uncomfortable backless lobby seats did not scream hospitality. Restaurant only offered bar snacks for dinner, completely inadequate, can’t even buy a bottle of water( none in room either.) A hotel of this caliber should offer laundry service, forget it. Room facing the courtyard was quite, but ridiculously appointed.Clothing storage was practically nonexistent, with no closet and a contraption consisting of a wire rack with some hangers and 2 small drawers at floor level.Who designed this? A large bureau was filled with mini fridge, safe and coffee maker, no room for clothes! On top of this was a large TV facing sideways from the bed, making viewing uncomfortable for the person next to it and impossible for the other person. Not to worry, since watching television is out, you can occupy yourself with the full sized ironing board in its own alcove, who needs this? The seat of the only small chair was rock hard , we filled an empty area with the suitcase I had to live out of for 5days,sitting on a luggage rack I had to beg for. Bathroom was small but nice, except for the scary toilet flushing on its own. During our entire stay, we were given 2 small
square bath soaps and a single round face soap. Room cleaners did a good job, but when I called housekeeping, front desk, concierge, nobody answered. Asked for restaurant recommendations for California cuisine(most hotels provide lists)I was told to go the the Cheesecake Factory or Morton’s. Really, people don’t visit San Francisco to eat in national chains.
Final straw at checkoutI was incorrectly charged$30/day +tax for some metropolitan experience fee, what is that other than a surplus charge? Staff was trying their best, but too few workers and services sadly make the Stanford Court much less than a luxury hotel.

Hotels in downtown SF are generally so expensive that when I booked the Stanford Court Hotel which is considered mid price, I wasn't expecting much. However the hotel way exceeded my expectation. Location is very central. Hotel deco is modern and stylish. Room is sparking clean. Staff is very nice and helpful and give me a free room upgrade which my hubby is super happy about it. Also tried their bar one evening and had a nice drink there. Their staff May offered great service and recommended a nice non alcoholic drink to me which tasted great. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends.

This hotel is located on Nob Hill and is a spectacular location with both cable car lines going by or near it. The service was first rate with daily housekeeping, upscale toiletries and higher floors having amazing view. There is a full restaurant and bar downstairs, filtered water stations throughout the hotel and a chic lobby and reception center as you enter. There is a private circular covered drive at the front of the hotel, making it very easy to enter with your own car or be dropped or picked up by a ride service. Every person working at the hotel provided excellent service. The hotel and its people exceeded my expectations and I've been coming to San Francisco since the 70s and stayed at all of the big name hotels over the years. In a time where we seem to get less for more, Stanford Court does NOT fall into that category. It goes above and beyond so when you leave you feel you got more for less. This was the best trip I've had there due in large part to this hotel. You won't be sorry if you stay here.

Honeymoon trip to The City. The hotel was very nice, not far from popular attractions and right at the corner of two major cable car routes. The overall price wasn’t bad but there are some charges that aren’t clearly explained prior such as a package designed for business purposes that is charged whether you use it or not. There are also some taxes for the state, county and city tacked on.

The valet parking is also $67 per night per vehicle which I thought was a bit on the high side but at least the car was close by the main entrance and protected.

We had a king room (240) and our friends had another (244). The rooms are kinda small but you don’t go to San Francisco to camp out in a hotel room!

The way the hotel is laid out will likely lead to some walking to get to your room as the hallways are long and there is only a central elevator to get you to the upper floors.

The “blackout” curtains work well, not letting much light in if you’re sleeping in during your stay. Our room had three dormer windows overlooking a courtyard roof so we just kept them closed while we were there.

The bed, pillows and linens were very comfortable. The bathroom area was roomy and the shower had great water pressure, unlike some other reviews I’ve read about the hotel. There is a towel warming rack by the shower and I think you’d need to have it on for at least an hour before you could really feel a difference in the towel.

We found when we checked in that they had charged us each for two rooms for two days but that was reconciled upon checkout. The base rate on the room was approximately 184 per night but that’s before the taxes and fees. We didn’t charge any meals to our room and counting the fees, parking, etc, it came out to about $330 per day of our two day stay

There is a restaurant on the lobby floor serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. It’s convenient with good portions and probably comparable to other hotel meal prices.

Our friends were visiting from Australia and this was a good location for us as a base to show them The City for a couple of days.

We were able to spend a full day at Pier 39 and Fisherman’s Wharf and not having to drive a great distance afterward was a bonus as the hotel is under ten minutes from those attractions and is also about a twenty minute drive from the San Francisco airport.

We would stay here again if the opportunity presented itself.

Breakfast very good, service good, only one of the three elevators in use at a time, very slow travelling up and down due to stopping in every floor. During my 9 night stay the water was not delivered as promised, the air conditioning did not function at all in room 807. no compensation was offered nor given on request, $2800 total for one room. Still, not a total unsatisfactory despite the cold nights and hot afternoons. Next time somewhere else.

Apologies for the delay, just seeing this now (May 29). There are little "marts" on nearby streets like Pine and Bush. It's a quick walk to Union Square on the way down. The way back is straight uphill, can wind unprepared travelers.

Aloha! We stayed in a corner skyline view room and the views were wonderful. You could see the cable cars down below and the Transamerica Pyramid too. I would imagine that a bay view room would have a better view of the water, but I think either one will be awesome. Great hotel in a great location. I believe the tax is 14%. Enjoy your visit to beautiful SF!
