we are in the heart of Union Square which is a great area. Even though tenderloin is close we are not in Tenderloin. Tenderloin in my opinion is west of Mason street. Our hotel neighbors the likes of Swarovsky Crystals and either expensive stores. Union Square also has "security" that walk around in big red jackets that help protect the tourist area along with the local police.
