A really nice hotel at a very central spot. Clean and comfortable. There is a cost of ~ $30 per night for parking. The soundproof is poor if you get a room on the road side. Unfortunately we were greeted by the rudest receptionist ever, Vincent. Not welcoming, not helpful and angry. The other receptionists were very polite.

The hotel is very near to Union Square with plenty of restaurants (Asian, American, Italian, etc) around it. It is a 106 yrs old hotel which is well-maintained and I find it charming. It provides free wine and tea party everyday from 4pm to 5:30pm on top of its free breakfast. The room I stayed didn't have air-conditioning, and a... More

I first discovered The Beresford Arms a little over a year ago. As per my previous experience, the room was large by San Francisco standards and good value compared to properties a little 'further up the hill' . Last time the room was a little noisy but brigh with a street view. This time I was given a room right... More

It may not be the cheapest, but for a place that is walking distance to Union Square, and the multitude of shops and attractions, it is a fantastic place. The rooms are generous, cleanlines and services are excellent as is the included morning breakfast. The reception staff for arrival and departure couldn't have been more helpful. My next visit to... Location was 10 minute walk from Union Square which was very handy. Area was not great at night but apart from that location was perfect. The room was huge. We had a wheelchair friendly room which was spotless and serviced daily. Continental breakfast of melon and pastries kept us going for a couple of hours and the wine and cheese... More

We booked this hotel through a discount website. The booking was properly last minute- 3 hours before we arrived.! The hotel,is not in the "high end" of Post Street. The hotel interior seems to have recently had major refurbishment. Our junior suite, was HUGE. It comprised of a bedroom with 2 Queen Anne sized beds. A lounge area with a... More

We had a junior suite for 3 nights. Two queen beds which were supremely comfortable. Kitchen area and immaculate bedroom. Reception staff helpful. The daily wine and cheese in the lobby was good fun. Breakfast was fruit, cakes and coffee....all very acceptable. Location is only 3 blocks from union square.. .about 8 minutes walk. All in all a great start... More

We just spent several nights at this hotel. It is very convenient and located within walking distance to the trolley car. We loved riding the California line and getting off at Grace Cathedral to get back "home" to a nice wine and cracker happy hour. Lovely staff, centrally located, clean and comfy. We highly recommend it and will come back... More

It didn't get off to a great start with fairly indifferent service at the front desk, and a very strong smell of cleaning products in the public areas, and an over full luggage room which meant our bags were not securely stored prior to check in. But the room on level 4 was great, really large with two comfortable beds,... More

If you are wondering about the title, this is a superb building that is, apparently on the San Francisco Register of Historic Buildings but, and I can only speak for our room, it was looking a little sad. You feel that if someone spent some serious money on the place it could become a five-star hotel. In some ways, the... More
