Pro's - hotel is really affordable, one of the lower costed ones in the area, staff are lovely, friendly and helpful. Free continental breakfast supplies. Location is good, it's nice and close to the shops, cable cars, union square etc. Also, there is a great bar next door where you can grab a couple of drinks and play pool. Good... More

Dear Asleigh Thank you for the review we will take your recommendation for opening windows for ventilation. I am happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us and such a great review on the staff, thank you for that. I'll start with the positives, because there are a couple. The staff were very friendly and there was breakfast each day. My kids also loved the lollipops by the front desk. There is no beating the location for sightseeing, just a block from public transportation. Unfortunately, I can't really say much more on the positive side. My family stayed here... More

Dear Rene I am happy to hear that you had great things to say about the staff as they strive hard to give great customer service and work with what we have. Hotel Bijou is a 100 year old building, you will find that many of the older hotels in SF have small rooms. Although all rooms vary in size... More

So I was a total travel rookie and booked Friday instead of Saturday. Whoops! Thank goodness for Brenda, the wonderful woman at the front desk for making sure we had a place to stay!! As for the room it is small, but it was perfect for my boyfriend and I. Clean, nicely decorated and the hotel has an adorable movie... More

If you travel on a strict budget, the Bijou is a great option, because its rates are lower than those of the big chain hotels in and around Union Square. A small, older hotel just a short block from the Powell St. BART and Muni station as well as the big Westfield SF mall, it is great for the tourist... More

This small, old hotel is well located a few blocks from Union Square in San Francisco, near Powell St. Public transport is very easy to access, stores and restaurants on all surrounding blocks. The staff were uniformly friendly, the room and bathroom were clean. That said, I would not stay here again, for several reasons. The bed was not comfortable,... More

We were visiting for a mini vacation. Blanca treated us very well and made a birthday roadtrip special. The rest of the staff were very helpful and friendly with recommendations and assistance. The location was very central, we appreciated being in the middle of the action. I would definitely recommend and or stay on a future trip.

We stayed here May 19-23 and the only complaint i have that was hotel related was that our key cards were not always working almost every day(The hotel was quickly willing to make sure our cards worked), and pertaining to the surrounding streets (not hotel related) which smelled of urine which is not the most inviting smell at any given... Really can't complain about this hotel for the price we paid. It was very good value. The rooms were spacious and clean. My only criticism about the rooms is that there was no tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
