The USP of this place is the location. It is at walking distance from Union Square. Has really friendly and helpful staff. Helped me in picking up tours in the city as well. Easy to find cabs and the nearest cable car station is also at walking distance. Had a wonderful stay.

Stayed 2 nights here over the weekend. Nice decor, comfortable bed and friendly staff. Was able to do early check-in which was fantastic after an early morning flight. Only problem is that it's noisy at night. Can hear the traffic even though I stayed on the upper level.

Other reviews have mentioned the neighborhood as a little sketchy. I didn't find it that way at all. There are many more street people on Market Street than on this stretch of Sutter. I liked having the grocery store 1 block away as well as coffee shops, fluff & fold laundry and other conveniences. It's 5 or 6 blocks from...

My kids and I stayed here for 2 nights. Rooms were snug but comfortable and very cozy/warm. Staff is very friendly and helpful. You can valet your vehicle for $40/night or drive down a 1/4 block to park yourself for $22/day, or $28/overnight with in and out privileges. There is wine hour at 5::30. One night there was a really...

I am in SF a lot and many hotels are either too pricey or dingy. This is a friendly, clean hotel and the rooms met all my needs and everything worked. There is no gym but a good one near by and the wifi is free and works well. It looses a star because the neighborhood is rough and not...

This hotel has a lovely vibe - the personnel are all warm and genuine, the rooms are cozy but well appointed, and the restaurant was a treat. We ate several of our meals at Phlox Commons - at first because they were open early and we wanted to grab a quick breakfast before our ferry left for Alcatraz. We were...

The staff are fantastic and so helpful. The hotel is located just above a rather sketchy part of town and we felt a bit unsafe walking home at night. Apart from that, the hotel was fabulous and suited our needs perfectly. They even upgraded us to a better room on arrival.

Located on a main road so handy for shops and transport. We found our bedroom a little small as was the bathroom. Staff were very helpful and polite. Free WiFi worked well for checking emails. We did not eat at this hotel so can not comment on the food it serves. OK for a short stay

The staff is friendly and helpful. The place is quiet in a decent part of town, not to far from union square (15 min by foot), and relatively close to a Bart station. Nice for a meeting week (my case) and suitable for any type of visit in San Francisco
