As well as superb value for money the ambience of this hotel is great. Mixture of middle Eastern and early 20th century decor. Staff were ever so helpful and friendly. Although only 2 elevators and we were on level 9 we never had long to wait. Room and bathroom immaculate - and hotel actually followed its own policy of only...

I booked a room with a friend for a Girl's Weekend in SF and was not disappointed! I had never been there before and went solely based on the favorable reviews. When we first got in we were placed on the second floor overlooking the street, next to the elevators and across from a construction site! We were too tired...

This is probably the best guest service I've received. Theo was kind enough to switch our rooms when my wife had trouble sleeping due to nearby construction. Very nice place for the price.

This hotel was a last hotel on our road trip to California and we stayed there for a couple of nights before heading home. The experience was far from great. The hotel service was horrible. We asked for extra towels the night when we arrived and it took them about 2 hours to actually bring them to our room and...

I am sorry to hear about your experience at Hotel Carlton. We strive to provide excellent service to our guests so I am very surprised to hear about the length of time it took for your towel delivery. I will be sure to work with our team so other guests do not have the same disappointment. In addition, I will...

We have picked the hotel passed on the reviews from here. And I must say we have not been disapointed. We arrived from Austria/Europe, at around 8pm at SFO - immigration took about 1 hrs, we took the BART to Powell station and decided then to take a cab - were charged $10 for the quite short trip. Walking into...

The first impressions ware favourable: we walked into a cozy little lobby and received a warm welcome from the reception staff, were dealt with very efficiently and made our way to our room (room 700). The room was a decent size, nice big comfy King-size bed, clean linen and towels, big tv, walk-in closet with safe, reasonable cleanish bathroom (a...

Upsides: Fantastic staff as in all Joie de Vivre hotels, making you feel right at home. Wonderful And super comfy beds and linens, rooms are well stocked. Very cute and quaint decor. Wine reception brings people from all over the world together over some great wines. Downside: dicey neighborhood, hotel rooms are spotless and at the same time worn down...

Picked this up as a last minute flight and hotel deal from the UK. The hotel staff were very welcoming and always happy to help with advice. The free wine at 5:30 was a nice ice-breaker. The room was the perfect size with a table, a TV and a comfy chair. There was a separate walk in hanging space with...
