We stayed at the Hotel Carlton for 4 nights and we liked the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the hotel was clean. We didn't find any issue with the noise and we were in a room at the front of the hotel and next to the elevator. It was a bit farther from most of the...

I arrived on October 21st and was meeting with my brother who was at another hotel. Hotel Carlton was waaaaaaaay nicer and less expensive than his. The folks at the front desk were ever so helpful giving me a map and telling me what sights to see and where to get the bus/cable cars booking trips etc. Wine at 5:30...

I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to San Francisco! This is a charming boutique hotel near Union Square. The staff went out of their way to help with anything that we needed, and seeing as there were 8 women travelling together we needed alot! This hotel is just a short walk from Union Square and a $10 taxi...

The staff at this hotel was accommodating and tried to be helpful. They got us cabs twice and checked on us when there was a delay. The first room we checked into had a dirty tub and a disturbing piece of art hanging over the bed that could not be taken off the wall. When I asked to get another...

When we arrived everyone was attentive. The lobby has a fire going and the atmosphere was welcoming. The bedroom area was neat and clean. The closet was quite large. When we looked at our bathroom we were shocked. The tub was stained gray and had streaks. The caulk and grout showed mildew or worse. There were tiles missing from the...

We picked the Carlton as it was a bit cheaper than other San Francisco hotels and it was difficult when researching to assess value for money. The front desk staff were very helpful and pleasant to deal with. We booked the room with the parking included which was good value and made the arrival and departure very smooth. The room...

My husband and I stayed here for four nights at the beginning of October. From the first humorous greeting by the front desk staff (our room was ready for check in three hours early!) until the day we checked out (they cheerfully babysat our luggage while we picked up our rental car), our stay was a complete pleasure. The wine...
