Great location in Lower Nob Hill, only two blocks from Union Square. French styling throughout is quirky, yet quaint. Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful throughout our stay of three nights. Rooms were large enough, well presented and clean. Breakfast was adequate if a bit repetitive. Location was superb...easy to walk to Union Square, Chinatown, North Beach...even Fisherman's Wharf. Russian... More

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW
Reviewed 22 August 2016 via mobile

We stopped in a couple days between a Southeast Asia trip and our home in Colorado. Very central, very French and very accommodating. Got to breakfast late on a weekday when the hours are less liberal. They said they'd make toast and bring out coffee. Our fault. Well they scrabbled up some eggs and brought a plate of eggs, bacon,... More

The Cornell Hotel de France was a charming oasis in the city. Our room was comfortable and lovely. The hotel is filled with art including lovely paintings on the walls themselves; each floor features a French painter! The staff were friendly and helpful, filling multiple roles from front desk to wait staff in the restaurant to housekeeping! Many of the... More

Had a long weekend in town with my teenage daughter for her birthday. Hotel was centrally located for all our activities and a short walk to shopping. We wanted a smaller hotel with charm and this one met that. Breakfast was included and was delicious, albeit limited. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Location of this hotel is excellent just around the corner from Union Square and Chinatown. Lovely decorated with lots of colouful paintings and flowers, which gives guests a cosy feeling. Downstairs a 'café' in Parisian style where you can sit down and have complimentary coffee or tea (ice water and cookies also available). The room was not too big but... More

We stayed at the Cornell Hotel de France last week over the Thanksgiving holiday. Very unique decor and amenities. Breakfast was great in their French restaurant in the lowest level. The people we worked with at the front desk were very helpful and friendly. We loved the location. We walked around the area a lot, and we really felt it... More

The hotel is so adorable with a classic French theme throughout. Everything from the old-fashioned gated elevator to the hand-painted walls. The decor was awesome. The people were so friendly and nice. They held our bags before check-in and brought them up while we were out and about. The free breakfast was great, and the general demeanor of the staff... More

Dear Laurentis, Sorry we could please you more.... We changed all our pillows three weeks ago after a long search and selecting what appeared the best to us, obviously we cannot please everybody. My room was so cute that I video-taped it! This is not your ordinary big city hotel. It's an older building which has been remodeled into a perfect French boutique hotel with French themed rooms and hallways and restaurant. My breakfast was so welcome in the sweet dining area. The coffee was excellent, and I felt like I was in... More

The hotel location is just about 4 blocks from Union Station and starting point for two of the cable car lines, which makes it convenient for catching a cable car (there are other cable car stops but if you do not get on at the “turn-around” most likely the cable car will be full one after the other). It is... More
