Hotel's Favourite
Another remarkable experience after our last trip during the Christmas week of 2022. This time it was after the lobby had been largely redone. They did a wonderful job creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere which is highly unusual in any US hotels. The location perched on top of Pacific Heights contributes greatly to the magic of the place. The staff is also superb. It has to be one of the very best if not the best "boutique" hotels in the US.

Met in San Francisco for a friends weekend this past weekend and stayed at the Hotel Drisco. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but as the weekend is coming to a close I have to say that I was blown away at the beauty of the hotel and the level of service of the Hotel Director and his staff. Set in the heart of Pacific Heights on top of the hill, the hotel has spectacular views of SF! The hotel is beautifully appointed with rich linens, beautiful furniture and exquisite taste. The bathrooms are marble and glass and very well lit with great water pressure. The bed was extremely comfortable with a variety of different pillow types to accommodate all desires. The rooms have ample space for several guests and the hotel provides absolutely anything and everything you could need in the room. Recently reopened after being closed due to the pandemic, extra precautions are in effect to keep guests safe. The room service menu offers a variety of items from snacks and sandwiches to full entree meals and desserts. It is also available 24 hours a day which was very handy since many restaurants are still limited in service currently. The hotel also provides a lovely breakfast service which is included as well as a daily evening wine service which had light food and drinks in the restaurant area below the lobby area. The hotel also has bees on the roof that provide the hotel with honey! They have thought of literally everything You can need and already provided it before you even have to ask! It was a wonderful surprise to find this gem of a hotel! We will definitely use the Hotel Drisco as our base again when in San Francisco! Thanks so much, John and staff at the Hotel Drisco Pacific Heights! I can’t wait to come back!

My new wife and I chose this beautiful hotel for our first two nights married after our Feb. 29 wedding at nearby Swedenborgian Church. Everything about out stay in a city view suite at the Drisco was perfect for us: luxurious comfort, spacious sparkling clean suite, gorgeous views, quiet location, and friendly/helpful staff.
Friends had gifted us a sweetheart room package so we found champagne, chocolate, rose petals and fresh snacks waiting for us upon arrival. We skipped the breakfasts, so we can't comment on that, but the hotel's public spaces are elegant and comfy, Staff was super nice and helpful. Room service was speedy. WiFi was great. We even lucked out with parking next to the hotel (staff also can take care of your car).
Staying here was a splurge for us, but totally worth it because we middle-aged newlyweds wanted to be holed up in a great room for 48 hours. We did not want to leave! Hope to be back soon.

We love the hotel Drisco! It is a very charming boutique hotel sitting on the top of the hill in Pacific Heights which is probably just about the most beautiful part of San Francisco. It is a very short walk from there to Presidio Park which is lovely and offers all kinds of amenities-trails for walking and biking, beautiful views, trees, grassy areas, picnic grounds and sports fields. The surrounding area is very clean and very safe.
The hotel itself gets the highest marks for service and quality of staff and experience. It was our first time and we felt like treasured guests by every staff member throughout our stay. The hotel offers a fantastic breakfast that they call a “continental breakfast“ but is so much more than that. Even with the pandemic protocols, they offer a wide variety of breads, toppings like lox and fixings for the bagels for example, beautiful fresh fruits, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, plenty of options - enough to make a full breakfast. All presented on individual wrapped little dishes for safety. The staff will also serve anything you wish from an espresso bar, even offering alternative milks for your latte or cappuccino.
In the evening they offer a wine reception, again with the little plates of tapas and other snacks to go alongside the wine and drinks. Again, a surprising generous selection and nice quality wines.
The rooms are beautiful. I highly recommend the city view suite, the view is amazing. They have thought of everything with the amenities offered in the room, your choice of service during your stay, room service available, robes and slippers and turndown service if you wish. The hotel has been lovingly and beautifully renovated with incredible attention to every detail.
It was also very easy to reserve gym time. The gym is small but very clean and very well outfitted with a Peloton bike, treadmill, weight bench, other machines plus full sets of free weights, resistance bands, Bosu balls, balance trainers, etc. nice supply of reusable water bottles and towels as well and is thoroughly cleaned between guests. They also have bikes available at no charge and made sure tires were pumped up and that we all had helmets and water bottles for our ride.
We had room service also which required a little patience but was great. They also sent up a variety of board games at our request. We really felt like guests in a really cool friends’ home, that’s no exaggeration. We will definitely go back and hopefully stay longer.

Not having been to SF in over a dozen years (I know, my bad) I needed to find a hotel in a specific area. Enter Hotel Drisco Pacific Heights. One of the most beautiful neighborhoods in SF. I got a city view room and while not super large, it was very well appointed and supremely comfortable. Bathroom WAS huge. The hotel is lovely and intimate and one feels very much at home here. There are so many pluses to this property: The evening wine tasting, the incredible breakfast offerings that are included in the room (very European), the tea/coffee/tiny snack offerings always present in the drawing room and a small but very well equipped gym that has everything you need for a full and complete workout. There's even a Peleton. The rooms have filtered water and huge (glass) water bottles that are the guests to take. While not inexpensive (including taxes it was around $750/night) it's worth it for a splurge.

Such a beautiful hotel, we chose to stay here as it was in the nicer part of SF and we were visiting from London for three nights. The surrounding areas have some beautiful houses and feel very safe. The service in the hotel was fabulous from start to finish and nothing was too difficult for the staff. We used the hotel bicycles, chauffeur service, dvd hire, valet/parking (all included within price). Continental breakfast had an amazing choice of healthy breakfast smoothies, salmon, eggs, pastries, porridge (everything you could ask for!). We also visited the wine reception, which is way more than just a wine reception! It had amazing nibbles and a great selection of wines. Cookies served in the afternoon in the lounge were also delicious (yes - we really made use of everything!). Lovely bvlgari toiletries, pillow menus and homemade Drisco shortbread biscuits in your room every day.
My only regret was staying at this hotel at the start of our California road trip, the standards at this hotel are so high nothing comes close!

We've been visiting San Francisco from the South Bay for 30 years, often for conferences, and have stayed in a dozen different hotels, but had never stayed at Hotel Drisco. What a mistake. The Drisco is a small, sophisticated hotel sitting at the top of Pacific Heights, very near the Presidio. The service was friendly and impeccable. We stayed in a 4th floor suite (406A) with expansive city views from every room, including the bath. The amenities (including digital connections) are modern, everything worked perfectly. Breakfast, expanded continental style, was served in the room due to the pandemic, but we had sunrise views from the bay window nook where a quaint dining table was located. There is a wonderful late afternoon wine and appetizers service with quality wine and lots of choices. The hotel is in a very quiet neighborhood (worth walking around if you like seeing how the rich and famous live) and closer to downtown than I realized. Union Square is just a ten minute drive away, and there are many great restaurants within a short walking distance if you don't mind burning off calories walking back up steep hills to the hotel. There was ample street parking, but weekdays it is a little tricky because there is usually a three-hour limit before 6. Hotel Drisco is not inexpensive, but the value is worth the cost.

Hotel Drisco is by far the most comfortable and luxurious hotel in San Francisco. The Drisco's location in Pacific Heights allows the traveler to be out of the way of the crowds and noise, and to enjoy the beauty of the City, while being moments away from many of the top attractions, such as Golden Gate Park, the Japanese Tea Garden, the art museums, and the California Academy of Sciences. We have stayed at the Drisco many times, but this visit was truly extraordinary. The hotel has added so many elegant food items, such as delicious custom made omelets to their breakfast buffet, that they are now offering their guests a full breakfast, all included in the price of the room. There is also a nightly wine event included, complete with elegant food offerings. We stayed in a City View Suite, which was very large and comfortable, sunny, whisper quiet, and offered a panoramic view of San Francisco, along with a huge and delightfully comfortable bed, a living room area, a large TV, and a bath complete with heated floors, rain shower and luxury toiletries. Did I mention the soft, thick terry robes and slippers? A treat not to be missed! The wonderful staff is always ready to provide guests with anything they might require. There is even a morning car service to take guests wherever they might wish to go. Do not miss a chance to stay at Hotel Drisco!

Hotel Drisco was welcome and luxurious retreat for the weekend. The room was tastefully decorated and better than my own home! Complimentary items included snacks, water (including the decanter with sleeve), Bulgari bath products and fragrance and fast wi/fi. The stay also included wine reception and appetizers as well as very comprehensive continental breakfast. The 24 hours room service was much appreciated due to the limited dining options in the community due to the pandemic I was also impressed by the safety measures in place to minimize COVID-19 transmission. I definitely will be sure to come to this hotel the next time I am in San Francisco.

Beautiful, immaculately clean hotel in a 1903 building with a friendly staff.
Quiet location near the Presidio and Lyon Street Steps in a residential neighborhood filled with gorgeous homes.
Some views when the fog burns off, beautiful bathrooms, cozy beds, just a warm and welcoming place.
Guests get daily breakfast plus a wine and hors d’oeuvres reception in the evening.
There is no restaurant, but the hotel offers good, reasonably priced room service around the clock.
Uber driver told me the Pacific Heights hotel is about as far from downtown as you can get and still be in the city. I’m not sure that’s precisely accurate, but if you want to walk out of your hotel and directly into the action, this isn’t the right spot.

Neighbourhood is extremely safe, the hotel is situated on a road that is mansion after mansion. It is very high up too, so whichever direction you come from you will need to walk up some very steep roads. Be careful with which one you choose to get up to that road because one day we innocently chose a random road close by and it was the steepest road I have ever walked up in my life, with these crazy teenage skateboarders making their way down it. I was absolutely shattered after since I had spent the whole day walking anyway, a nasty way to end it! But a great location despite that.
The answer to the question is wholly dependent upon the type of room, i.e., a suite--409 for example--has a wonderful walk in shower, replete with all of the "stuff" needed for a shower after a hard day of doing things you love to do when staying at this oasis.
Other rooms--we've stayed in several both before and after the remodeling--do not have walk in showers.
Ergo, if the need for a walk in shower is the decisive driver, merely ask the front desk when booking to find you a room of your dreams.
I suggest you contact the Drisco about questions #1, #2 and #4. There are many restaurants in the neighborhood, but I am not sure what you consider walking distance. FYI we found the wine tasting very nice and the room service was very reasonable. We loved the suite.
With regard to the baby seat, you should contact Uber and Lyft, but the Drisco also provides a limo service.
Hi, we would be happy to arrange for our chauffeur to take you anywhere at any time. Please reach out to us and we will let you know what the charge will be. Our complimentary chauffeur service is available weekday mornings to several popular destinations.
Hi, we offer chauffeur service every weekday morning from 7am to 10am to Union Square, the Financial District and the Presidio. Unfortunately Pier 33 is not one of our destinations, but we can take you downtown and you can take a walk or a short rideshare from there.
