Although the city itself was not in the best of conditions because of COVID, our stay at the hotel was wonderful. Our room was upgraded to a suite for my gf’s BD, room was spacious and functional, we were gifted a bottle of champagne and wine of “OK” quality but you know it’s all about the thought, the WiFi is great at our room, staff was nice and helpful with all of our requests. The only very very minor downfall is that the room’s air conditioning system was a bit on the old side and required some time to figure out and the bath was not big, and no disconnecting shower head, I guess I’m more of a Shower guy than a Bath, some would disagree with me. I would rate it 4.9 if I could but it’s definitely not a 4 so 5.
We were a group of 6 and spent 4 great nights here. The hotel is very well located for all modes of transport and a block from Union Square and all the high end shopping. The hotel was clean and well kept. The rooms were good sized, our rooms were in the prestige building which required you to go down stairs and through the pool area to get to the front but not a big deal. The hotel is close to a main cable car turn around too. I would recommend this hotel and would stay again when in San Francisco. Thanks for a great stay!!
I've been in Handlery hotel 2 times one in October 2018 and the other in August 2021, so far it is the best hotel i've been stayed at, love the location right in the center of Union Square near to all the good things SF has to offer. I like that is a old fashion hotel love the old elevator, the pool is great (has warm water), the showers water pressure is nice, love the bathtub. Rooms are nice, clean, bed is really conformable, bedclothes are clear. On the 2021 (I went with my cousin) they gave us 2 $5.00 starbucks gift card which was really nice and a 20% coupon for a breakfast (which we didn't use). Looking forward to stay there again next time I'll visit SF. Check-in and check out was fast and with 0 issues.
The hotel is in a good location, very close to Union Square and a reasonable walk to Chinatown and Pier 39. The room was spacious and clean with a very nice seating area and a comfortable bed. The bathroom was somewhat small but well-equipped. I would have preferred a walk-in shower with a door rather than a curtain, but everything was clean. The staff were very welcoming and professional. The hotel restaurant was closed due to the pandemic, but we were given a discount coupon for Cafe Mason around the corner and had a nice breakfast there. The one drawback we found with the hotel is that there is limited access between the two buildings of the hotel. The elevator to our room was accessible from the back entrance of the building where the parking garage is, but we found when we returned at night to the main lobby, we had to take a longer route involving stairs to get to the elevators that would take us to our room. There is a special elevator designed for disabled people to use in place of the stairs, but we did not feel comfortable using it. Overall, however, we had a very enjoyable stay at this property.…
Our room had a balcony just at the end of a three way intersection on the 5th floor. We enjoyed spending time sitting outside, sipping cold Champagne, watching the city. We soaked in the sun while we swam in the pool. We have never enjoyed a room or hotel more than the Handlery. We arrived early and were able to check-in without an issue. The ability to control the temperature in the room was impressive. We walked to and from a Giants baseball game at Oracle Park. It was a great time. The staff was so kind and accommodating. We would love to stay again.
