Staff was excellent. We arrived early and was given an early check-in. Our room was noisy as it was right above a street level bar. Requested a new room and was accommodated quickly. Very good service. Hotel right across the street from Fisherman 's Wharf.

This hotel is very in a very good location, close to Fishermans Wharf, 4 min to walk to be down at the low end of the pier. Besides the 2 main Cable Car stations are also very close. We stayed here for one night on our trip back from Napa. It was easy to find, convenient to some of the major and very busy tourists attractions - Fisherman's Wharf, Alcatraz Ferry, Embarcadero, Coit Tower, Buena Vista and the famous cable cars. We also walked to Washington Square/North Beach where you will find so many incredible places to eat....

This hotel is good with the sort of rooms you'd expect, but they are charging $12.95 per day for internet at 1MBPS. That is pathetic these days. I get faster and better connections in first world countries such as Kenya.

We recently stayed three nights at this location. The employees were very helpful and the hotel is very close to the Fisherman's Wharf. You are in the middle of the activity at the Wharf and close to Pier 39. The cable cars and the trolleys are a short walk away. Also, the Buena Vista Restaurant (home of Irish Coffee) is...

Really, you can't beat the location! Easy walking distance to so many sights... Pier 39, Fisherman Wharf, Gharadelli, Trolley Cars, and easy transportation to everywhere else! A cab to the stadium to catch a Giants game was about $12. But, the staff made the stay even better! Nice, helpful, informative! There are a lot of hotels in the area, this...

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighbourhood home.
